Prior to 0.1.9, bincookie_init_file() in bincookie.h allocates a buffer using the actual .binarycookies file length but trusts the file-controlled num_pages field as the loop bound for byte-swapping page_sizes entries. A crafted file can make the loop read and write beyond the heap allocation, and related unvalidated page sizes and cookie_offsets can drive additional out-of-bounds accesses in page and cookie iteration. Applications that parse an attacker-supplied binarycookies file may crash or suffer heap corruption that can potentially enable code execution. This issue is fixed in version 0.1.9.\nhttps://www.cve.org/CVERecord?id=CVE-2026-55246https://github.com/Tatsh/bincookie/security/advisories/GHSA-22pc-xxw4-q849https://github.com/Tatsh/bincookie/commit/bc1433c1ee4d0284750ff85c8437f1b8df91ab3bhttps://github.com/Tatsh/bincookie/releases/tag/v0.1.9#Tatsh #bincookie#CVE_2026_55246#bot", "creation_timestamp": "2026-10-15T17:25:15.971642Z"}, {"uuid": "874d35f5-16c3-4d0b-a5cd-80831bbeb9a8", "vulnerability_lookup_origin": "1a89b78e-f703-45f3-bb86-59eb712668bd", "author": "9f56dd64-161d-43a6-b9c3-555944290a09", "vulnerability": "CVE-2026-55246", "type": "seen", "source": "https://bsky.app/profile/thehackerwire.bsky.social/post/3mxwpw3jm472e", "content": "\ud83d\udfe0 CVE-2026-55246 - High (7.8)\n\nbincookie is a header-only binarycookies parser.
