Because the application incorrectly trusts this header, an attacker can impersonate any user, including administrators, without requiring a password. This grants full access to confidential data and system controls. More specifically, the HTTPBasicAuth modules for the agent (Kernel::System::Auth::HTTPBasicAuth) and customer (Kernel::System::CustomerAuth::HTTPBasicAuth) interfaces read the username to log in not only from $ENV{REMOTE_USER} (set by the web server after successful authentication), but also, as a fallback, from $ENV{HTTP_REMOTE_USER}, which is populated directly from an attacker-controllable \"Remote-User\" request header. On systems where HTTPBasicAuth was configured as the authentication backend, this allowed an attacker to log in as any existing user by sending a request with a forged Remote-User header, without providing any credentials.\nhttps://www.cve.org/CVERecord?id=CVE-2026-93483https://www.znuny.org/advisorieshttps://www.znuny.org/en/advisories/zsa-2026-14#znuny #Znuny#CVE_2026_93483#bot", "creation_timestamp": "2026-10-15T03:55:15.126401Z"}, {"uuid": "6e52fc7a-b0ea-4dbd-b043-b52f476f9881", "vulnerability_lookup_origin": "1a89b78e-f703-45f3-bb86-59eb712668bd", "author": "9f56dd64-161d-43a6-b9c3-555944290a09", "vulnerability": "CVE-2026-93483", "type": "seen", "source": "https://bsky.app/profile/stackflag.bsky.social/post/3mxveje72j52z", "content": "CVE-2026-93483\nVersions of Znuny up to 7.3.6 trust a web request header that can be set by an attacker.
