GHSA-G47X-CPW8-VM37
Vulnerability from github – Published: 2022-05-13 01:01 – Updated: 2022-05-13 01:01An exploitable double-free vulnerability exists in the Office Open XML parser of Atlantis Word Processor, version 3.2.5.0. A specially crafted document can cause a TTableRow instance to be referenced twice, resulting in a double-free vulnerability when both the references go out of scope. An attacker must convince a victim to open a document in order to trigger this vulnerability.

Vulnerability from github – Published: 2024-07-30 09:32 – Updated: 2025-11-04 00:31In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
crypto: hisilicon/debugfs - Fix debugfs uninit process issue
During the zip probe process, the debugfs failure does not stop the probe. When debugfs initialization fails, jumping to the error branch will also release regs, in addition to its own rollback operation.
As a result, it may be released repeatedly during the regs uninit process. Therefore, the null check needs to be added to the regs uninit process.

GHSA-G64M-M7R3-J854
Vulnerability from github – Published: 2024-04-17 12:32 – Updated: 2025-01-27 15:30In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
firmware: arm_scmi: Fix double free in SMC transport cleanup path
When the generic SCMI code tears down a channel, it calls the chan_free callback function, defined by each transport. Since multiple protocols might share the same transport_info member, chan_free() might want to clean up the same member multiple times within the given SCMI transport implementation. In this case, it is SMC transport. This will lead to a NULL pointer dereference at the second time:

Simply check for the struct pointer being NULL before trying to access its members, to avoid this situation.
This was found when a transport doesn't really work (for instance no SMC service), the probe routines then tries to clean up, and triggers a crash.

GHSA-G839-937G-3FHV
Vulnerability from github – Published: 2022-05-13 01:04 – Updated: 2025-04-12 13:03fontconfig before 2.12.1 does not validate offsets, which allows local users to trigger arbitrary free calls and consequently conduct double free attacks and execute arbitrary code via a crafted cache file.

Mitigation
Choose a language that provides automatic memory management.
Mitigation
Ensure that each allocation is freed only once. After freeing a chunk, set the pointer to NULL to ensure the pointer cannot be freed again. In complicated error conditions, be sure that clean-up routines respect the state of allocation properly. If the language is object oriented, ensure that object destructors delete each chunk of memory only once.
Mitigation
Use a static analysis tool to find double free instances.
