Vulnerability from github – Published: 2023-12-13 15:30 – Updated: 2023-12-13 15:30Adobe Dimension versions 3.4.10 and earlier are affected by an out-of-bounds read vulnerability that could lead to disclosure of sensitive memory. An attacker could leverage this vulnerability to bypass mitigations such as ASLR. Exploitation of this issue requires user interaction in that a victim must open a malicious file.

GHSA-CV83-M6F4-PC7M
Vulnerability from github – Published: 2024-03-04 18:30 – Updated: 2025-02-14 15:31In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
Input: elantech - fix stack out of bound access in elantech_change_report_id()
The array param[] in elantech_change_report_id() must be at least 3 bytes, because elantech_read_reg_params() is calling ps2_command() with PSMOUSE_CMD_GETINFO, that is going to access 3 bytes from param[], but it's defined in the stack as an array of 2 bytes, therefore we have a potential stack out-of-bounds access here, also confirmed by KASAN:

GHSA-CVF5-P5MJ-6R49
Vulnerability from github – Published: 2025-02-27 03:34 – Updated: 2026-05-12 15:30In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ipmr: do not call mr_mfc_uses_dev() for unres entries
syzbot found that calling mr_mfc_uses_dev() for unres entries would crash [1], because c->mfc_un.res.minvif / c->mfc_un.res.maxvif alias to "struct sk_buff_head unresolved", which contain two pointers.
This code never worked, lets remove it.

Vulnerability from github – Published: 2026-07-09 18:31 – Updated: 2026-07-09 18:31Cesanta Mongoose before 7.22 contains an out-of-bounds read in the built-in TLS server function mg_tls_server_recv_hello(), which uses an attacker-controlled session_id_len byte from a TLS ClientHello as a buffer index without validating it against the length of received data. A remote, unauthenticated attacker can send a single crafted ClientHello with an oversized session id length to read past the receive buffer, crashing any HTTPS, MQTTS, or WSS service built on MG_TLS_BUILTIN.

GHSA-CVGX-3V3Q-M36C
Vulnerability from github – Published: 2021-11-10 19:01 – Updated: 2024-11-07 22:18Impact
The shape inference code for QuantizeV2 can trigger a read outside of bounds of heap allocated array:
import tensorflow as tf
@tf.function
def test():
data=tf.raw_ops.QuantizeV2(
input=[1.0,1.0],
min_range=[1.0,10.0],
max_range=[1.0,10.0],
T=tf.qint32,
mode='MIN_COMBINED',
round_mode='HALF_TO_EVEN',
narrow_range=False,
axis=-100,
ensure_minimum_range=10)
return data
test()
This occurs whenever axis is a negative value less than -1. In this case, we are accessing data before the start of a heap buffer:
int axis = -1;
Status s = c->GetAttr("axis", &axis);
if (!s.ok() && s.code() != error::NOT_FOUND) {
return s;
}
...
if (axis != -1) {
...
TF_RETURN_IF_ERROR(
c->Merge(c->Dim(minmax, 0), c->Dim(input, axis), &depth));
}
The code allows axis to be an optional argument (s would contain an error::NOT_FOUND error code). Otherwise, it assumes that axis is a valid index into the dimensions of the input tensor. If axis is less than -1 then this results in a heap OOB read.
Patches
We have patched the issue in GitHub commit a0d64445116c43cf46a5666bd4eee28e7a82f244.
The fix will be included in TensorFlow 2.7.0. We will also cherrypick this commit on TensorFlow 2.6.1, as this version is the only one that is also affected.

Mitigation MIT-5
Strategy: Input Validation
- Assume all input is malicious. Use an "accept known good" input validation strategy, i.e., use a list of acceptable inputs that strictly conform to specifications. Reject any input that does not strictly conform to specifications, or transform it into something that does.
- When performing input validation, consider all potentially relevant properties, including length, type of input, the full range of acceptable values, missing or extra inputs, syntax, consistency across related fields, and conformance to business rules. As an example of business rule logic, "boat" may be syntactically valid because it only contains alphanumeric characters, but it is not valid if the input is only expected to contain colors such as "red" or "blue."
- Do not rely exclusively on looking for malicious or malformed inputs. This is likely to miss at least one undesirable input, especially if the code's environment changes. This can give attackers enough room to bypass the intended validation. However, denylists can be useful for detecting potential attacks or determining which inputs are so malformed that they should be rejected outright.
- To reduce the likelihood of introducing an out-of-bounds read, ensure that you validate and ensure correct calculations for any length argument, buffer size calculation, or offset. Be especially careful of relying on a sentinel (i.e. special character such as NUL) in untrusted inputs.
Mitigation
Strategy: Language Selection
Use a language that provides appropriate memory abstractions.
CAPEC-540: Overread Buffers
An adversary attacks a target by providing input that causes an application to read beyond the boundary of a defined buffer. This typically occurs when a value influencing where to start or stop reading is set to reflect positions outside of the valid memory location of the buffer. This type of attack may result in exposure of sensitive information, a system crash, or arbitrary code execution.
