GHSA-JR2F-HW4R-48CJ

Vulnerability from github – Published: 2025-06-18 12:30 – Updated: 2025-11-13 21:31
VLAI
Details

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

drm/sun4i: dsi: Prevent underflow when computing packet sizes

Currently, the packet overhead is subtracted using unsigned arithmetic. With a short sync pulse, this could underflow and wrap around to near the maximal u16 value. Fix this by using signed subtraction. The call to max() will correctly handle any negative numbers that are produced.

Apply the same fix to the other timings, even though those subtractions are less likely to underflow.

GHSA-JVG6-35MJ-MPFV

Vulnerability from github – Published: 2022-05-12 00:00 – Updated: 2022-05-21 00:00
VLAI
Details

The TRENDnet TI-PG1284i switch(hw v2.0R) prior to version 2.0.2.S0 suffers from an integer underflow vulnerability. This vulnerability exists in its lldp related component. Due to lack of proper validation on length field of ChassisID TLV, by sending a crafted lldp packet to the device, integer underflow would occur and the negative number will be passed to memcpy() later, which may cause buffer overflow or invalid memory access.

GHSA-M43Q-HVCX-4PXC

Vulnerability from github – Published: 2025-10-01 09:30 – Updated: 2025-12-11 00:30
VLAI
Details

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

i2c: rtl9300: ensure data length is within supported range

Add an explicit check for the xfer length to 'rtl9300_i2c_config_xfer' to ensure the data length isn't within the supported range. In particular a data length of 0 is not supported by the hardware and causes unintended or destructive behaviour.

This limitation becomes obvious when looking at the register documentation [1]. 4 bits are reserved for DATA_WIDTH and the value of these 4 bits is used as N + 1, allowing a data length range of 1 <= len <= 16.

Affected by this is the SMBus Quick Operation which works with a data length of 0. Passing 0 as the length causes an underflow of the value due to:

(len - 1) & 0xf

and effectively specifying a transfer length of 16 via the registers. This causes a 16-byte write operation instead of a Quick Write. For example, on SFP modules without write-protected EEPROM this soft-bricks them by overwriting some initial bytes.

For completeness, also add a quirk for the zero length.

GHSA-M539-J985-HCR8

Vulnerability from github – Published: 2021-11-10 19:36 – Updated: 2024-11-13 21:46
VLAI
Summary
Crash in `max_pool3d` when size argument is 0 or negative
Details

Impact

The Keras pooling layers can trigger a segfault if the size of the pool is 0 or if a dimension is negative:

import tensorflow as tf

pool_size = [2, 2, 0]
layer = tf.keras.layers.MaxPooling3D(strides=1, pool_size=pool_size)
input_tensor = tf.random.uniform([3, 4, 10, 11, 12], dtype=tf.float32)
res = layer(input_tensor)

This is due to the TensorFlow's implementation of pooling operations where the values in the sliding window are not checked to be strictly positive.

Patches

We have patched the issue in GitHub commit 12b1ff82b3f26ff8de17e58703231d5a02ef1b8b (merging #51975).

The fix will be included in TensorFlow 2.7.0. We will also cherrypick this commit on TensorFlow 2.6.1, TensorFlow 2.5.2, and TensorFlow 2.4.4, as these are also affected and still in supported range.

Details

schreibfaul1 ESP32-audioI2S v3.4.5 has an integer underflow vulnerability in the MP3Decoder::GetBits() function of the MP3 decoder due to unchecked bit reading operations. The lack of validation on the nBits parameter causes the cachedBits counter to underflow to negative values, leading to invalid bit manipulation, incorrect bitstream parsing, application crash, or arbitrary code execution via a specially crafted MP3 file.

VLAI
Details

A vulnerability in the web server of Cisco Integrated Management Controller (IMC) could allow an authenticated, local attacker to cause a buffer overflow, resulting in a denial of service (DoS) condition on an affected device. The vulnerability is due to incorrect bounds checking. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a crafted HTTP request to the affected system. An exploit could allow the attacker to cause a buffer overflow, resulting in a process crash and DoS condition on the device.
