may_open() does not allow a directory to be opened with the write access. However, some writing flags set by client result in adding write access on server, making ksmbd incompatible with FUSE file system. Simply, let's discard the write access when opening a directory.

GHSA-3742-9RPQ-WHR7
Vulnerability from github – Published: 2025-09-23 21:30 – Updated: 2025-09-23 21:30In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
iommu/omap: Fix regression in probe for NULL pointer dereference
Commit 3f6634d997db ("iommu: Use right way to retrieve iommu_ops") started triggering a NULL pointer dereference for some omap variants:
__iommu_probe_device from probe_iommu_group+0x2c/0x38 probe_iommu_group from bus_for_each_dev+0x74/0xbc bus_for_each_dev from bus_iommu_probe+0x34/0x2e8 bus_iommu_probe from bus_set_iommu+0x80/0xc8 bus_set_iommu from omap_iommu_init+0x88/0xcc omap_iommu_init from do_one_initcall+0x44/0x24
This is caused by omap iommu probe returning 0 instead of ERR_PTR(-ENODEV) as noted by Jason Gunthorpe jgg@ziepe.ca.
Looks like the regression already happened with an earlier commit 6785eb9105e3 ("iommu/omap: Convert to probe/release_device() call-backs") that changed the function return type and missed converting one place.

GHSA-375R-HMJC-J5GG
Vulnerability from github – Published: 2024-09-11 18:31 – Updated: 2024-09-13 18:31In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/msm/dpu: move dpu_encoder's connector assignment to atomic_enable()
For cases where the crtc's connectors_changed was set without enable/active getting toggled , there is an atomic_enable() call followed by an atomic_disable() but without an atomic_mode_set().
This results in a NULL ptr access for the dpu_encoder_get_drm_fmt() call in the atomic_enable() as the dpu_encoder's connector was cleared in the atomic_disable() but not re-assigned as there was no atomic_mode_set() call.
Fix the NULL ptr access by moving the assignment for atomic_enable() and also use drm_atomic_get_new_connector_for_encoder() to get the connector from the atomic_state.

It is possible for a BO to exist that is not currently associated with a resource, e.g. because it has been evicted.
When devcoredump tries to read the contents of all BOs for dumping, we need to expect this as well -- in this case, ENODATA is recorded instead of the buffer contents.

Vulnerability from github – Published: 2022-05-17 03:15 – Updated: 2022-05-17 03:15All versions of NVIDIA Windows GPU Display Driver contain a vulnerability in the kernel mode layer (nvlddmkm.sys) handler for DxgDdiEscape where multiple pointers are used without checking for NULL, leading to denial of service or potential escalation of privileges.

Mitigation MIT-56
For any pointers that could have been modified or provided from a function that can return NULL, check the pointer for NULL before use. When working with a multithreaded or otherwise asynchronous environment, ensure that proper locking APIs are used to lock before the check, and unlock when it has finished [REF-1484].
Mitigation
Select a programming language that is not susceptible to these issues.
Mitigation
Check the results of all functions that return a value and verify that the value is non-null before acting upon it.
Mitigation
Identify all variables and data stores that receive information from external sources, and apply input validation to make sure that they are only initialized to expected values.
Mitigation
Explicitly initialize all variables and other data stores, either during declaration or just before the first usage.
No CAPEC attack patterns related to this CWE.
