FKIE_CVE-2025-55293

Vulnerability from fkie_nvd - Published: 2025-08-18 18:15 - Updated: 2025-10-17 17:48
Summary
Meshtastic is an open source mesh networking solution. Prior to v2.6.3, an attacker can send NodeInfo with a empty publicKey first, then overwrite it with a new key. First sending a empty key bypasses 'if (p.public_key.size > 0) {', clearing the existing publicKey (and resetting the size to 0) for a known node. Then a new key bypasses 'if (info->user.public_key.size > 0) {', and this malicious key is stored in NodeDB. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.6.3.

FKIE_CVE-2024-47065

Vulnerability from fkie_nvd - Published: 2025-07-11 17:15 - Updated: 2025-08-22 16:01
Summary
Meshtastic is an open source mesh networking solution. Prior to 2.5.1, traceroute responses from the remote node are not rate limited. Given that there are SNR measurements attributed to each received transmission, this is a guaranteed way to get a remote station to reliably and continuously respond. You could easily get 100 samples in a short amount of time (estimated 2 minutes), whereas passively doing the same could take hours or days. There are secondary effects that non-ratelimited traceroute does also allow a 2:1 reflected DoS of the network as well, but these concerns are less than the problem with positional confidentiality (other DoS routes exist). This vulnerability is fixed in 2.5.1.

FKIE_CVE-2025-53637

Vulnerability from fkie_nvd - Published: 2025-07-10 22:15 - Updated: 2025-08-22 16:02
Summary
Meshtastic is an open source mesh networking solution. The main_matrix.yml GitHub Action is triggered by the pull_request_target event, which has extensive permissions, and can be initiated by an attacker who forked the repository and created a pull request. In the shell code execution part, user-controlled input is interpolated unsafely into the code. If this were to be exploited, attackers could inject unauthorized code into the repository. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.6.6.

FKIE_CVE-2025-52464

Vulnerability from fkie_nvd - Published: 2025-06-19 16:15 - Updated: 2025-10-09 16:52
Summary
Meshtastic is an open source mesh networking solution. In versions from 2.5.0 to before 2.6.11, the flashing procedure of several hardware vendors was resulting in duplicated public/private keys. Additionally, the Meshtastic was failing to properly initialize the internal randomness pool on some platforms, leading to possible low-entropy key generation. When users with an affected key pair sent Direct Messages, those message could be captured and decrypted by an attacker that has compiled the list of compromised keys. This issue has been patched in version 2.6.11 where key generation is delayed til the first time the LoRa region is set, along with warning users when a compromised key is detected. Version 2.6.12 furthers this patch by automatically wiping known compromised keys when found. A workaround to this vulnerability involves users doing a complete device wipe to remove vendor-cloned keys.

FKIE_CVE-2025-24797

Vulnerability from fkie_nvd - Published: 2025-04-15 00:15 - Updated: 2025-10-03 15:31
Summary
Meshtastic is an open source mesh networking solution. A fault in the handling of mesh packets containing invalid protobuf data can result in an attacker-controlled buffer overflow, allowing an attacker to hijack execution flow, potentially resulting in remote code execution. This attack does not require authentication or user interaction, as long as the target device rebroadcasts packets on the default channel. This vulnerability fixed in 2.6.2.

FKIE_CVE-2024-51500

Vulnerability from fkie_nvd - Published: 2024-11-04 23:15 - Updated: 2025-10-15 17:53
Summary
Meshtastic firmware is a device firmware for the Meshtastic project. The Meshtastic firmware does not check for packets claiming to be from the special broadcast address (0xFFFFFFFF) which could result in unexpected behavior and potential for DDoS attacks on the network. A malicious actor could craft a packet to be from that address which would result in an amplification of this one message into every node on the network sending multiple messages. Such an attack could result in degraded network performance for all users as the available bandwidth is consumed. This issue has been addressed in release version 2.5.6. All users are advised to upgrade. There are no known workarounds for this vulnerability.

FKIE_CVE-2024-47078

Vulnerability from fkie_nvd - Published: 2024-09-25 16:15 - Updated: 2024-12-02 18:31
Summary
Meshtastic is an open source, off-grid, decentralized, mesh network. Meshtastic uses MQTT to communicate over an internet connection to a shared or private MQTT Server. Nodes can communicate directly via an internet connection or proxied through a connected phone (i.e., via bluetooth). Prior to version 2.5.1, multiple weaknesses in the MQTT implementation allow for authentication and authorization bypasses resulting in unauthorized control of MQTT-connected nodes. Version 2.5.1 contains a patch.

CVE-2025-55293 (GCVE-0-2025-55293)

Vulnerability from cvelistv5 – Published: 2025-08-18 17:24 – Updated: 2025-08-18 17:41
VLAI?

CVE-2024-47065 (GCVE-0-2024-47065)

Vulnerability from cvelistv5 – Published: 2025-07-11 17:00 – Updated: 2025-07-11 18:21
VLAI?

CVE-2025-53637 (GCVE-0-2025-53637)

Vulnerability from cvelistv5 – Published: 2025-07-10 21:31 – Updated: 2025-07-11 16:50
VLAI?

Summary
Meshtastic is an open source mesh networking solution. From 1.2.1 until 2.6.2, a packet sent to the routing module that contains want_response==true causes a crash. This can lead to a degradation of service for nodes within range of a malicious sender, or via MQTT if downlink is enabled. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.6.2.

CVE-2025-52464 (GCVE-0-2025-52464)

Vulnerability from cvelistv5 – Published: 2025-06-19 15:10 – Updated: 2025-06-23 17:39

CVE-2024-51500 (GCVE-0-2024-51500)

Vulnerability from cvelistv5 – Published: 2024-11-04 23:00 – Updated: 2024-11-05 16:49
VLAI?

Vulnerability from nvd – Published: 2025-08-18 17:24 – Updated: 2025-08-18 17:41
VLAI?

CVE-2024-47065 (GCVE-0-2024-47065)

Vulnerability from nvd – Published: 2025-07-11 17:00 – Updated: 2025-07-11 18:21
VLAI?

This vulnerability is fixed in 2.5.1."

CVE-2025-52464 (GCVE-0-2025-52464)

Vulnerability from nvd – Published: 2025-06-19 15:10 – Updated: 2025-06-23 17:39

A workaround to this vulnerability involves users doing a complete device wipe to remove vendor-cloned keys."

CVE-2025-24797 (GCVE-0-2025-24797)

Vulnerability from nvd – Published: 2025-04-14 23:25 – Updated: 2025-04-21 14:10
VLAI?
CWE

CVE-2024-51500 (GCVE-0-2024-51500)

Vulnerability from nvd – Published: 2024-11-04 23:00 – Updated: 2024-11-05 16:49
