Title
Dancer2::Plugin::Auth::Extensible versions through 0.713 for Perl allow password reset link poisoning via the request Host header in _default_email_password_reset and _default_welcome_send
Summary
Dancer2::Plugin::Auth::Extensible versions through 0.713 for Perl allow password reset link poisoning via the request Host header in _default_email_password_reset and _default_welcome_send. Both default emails emit a link of the form `$base/login/$code`, whose authority comes from the request Host header, or from X-Forwarded-Host under behind_proxy (obtained from Dancer2's request->base function). A POST to /login carrying submit_reset and a username needs no authentication: it stores a fresh reset code against that account and mails the account holder a link to a host of the sender's choosing. The welcome mail takes the same path when the application calls create_user with email_welcome set. Through 0.711 the handlers read `request->uri_base` and `request->base` directly; Versions 0.712 and later provide an uri_base configuration key that defaults to the untrusted `request->uri_base` when unset. The default configuration with reset_password_handler enabled and the default message text, a recipient who follows the link hands a working reset code to the sender's host, which is enough to take over the account.

Title
Essential Addons for Elementor <= 6.6.10 - Authenticated (Contributor+) Account Takeover via Email Header Injection
Summary
The Essential Addons for Elementor – Popular Elementor Templates & Widgets plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Authenticated Account Takeover via Email Header Injection in all versions up to, and including, 6.6.10 This is due to insufficient server-side validation of a Login/Register widget setting used to construct outgoing email headers — the allowed-values restriction is enforced only in the client-side editor UI and not on the server, and the applied sanitization does not strip or encode CR/LF characters, allowing CRLF sequences stored in that setting to survive into raw mail headers. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Contributor-level access and above, to inject an additional Bcc header into the WordPress administrator's password-reset notification email, receive a copy of a valid administrator password-reset link, and achieve full administrator account takeover.

Title
TrueBooker <= 1.2.3 - Missing Authorization to Unauthenticated Arbitrary Password Reset via 'tbab-userid'
Summary
The TrueBooker – Appointment Booking and Scheduler System plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to account takeover via improper password reset validation in all versions up to, and including, 1.2.3. This is due to the plugin not properly validating a user's identity before resetting their password. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to reset the password of arbitrary user accounts, including administrators, and gain access to those accounts.

Title
Weak Password Recovery Mechanism in Portal for ArcGIS
Summary
A Weak Password Recovery Mechanism for Forgotten Password exists in Esri Portal for ArcGIS versions 12.1 and earlier on Windows, Linux and Kubernetes. A remote, unauthorized attacker may assume ownership of a user’s account by manipulating this mechanism. ArcGIS Administrators should configure an email server with ArcGIS Enterprise to facilitate user self-service password recovery. The ability for an administrator to reset a user’s password remains unchanged.

CVE-2026-12949 (GCVE-0-2026-12949)

Title
Wishlist Member X <= 3.34.1 - Unauthenticated Account Takeover via 'mergewith' Parameter
Summary
The Wishlist Member plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Account Takeover via Insufficient Verification of Data Authenticity in versions up to and including 3.34.1. This is due to the wpm_register() function validating the registration cookie only against the GET reg parameter while accepting the POST mergewith and POST wpm_id parameters without verifying that the mergewith user ID references a temporary or incomplete registrant that is bound to the current registration transaction. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to take over any existing WordPress account — including administrator accounts — by supplying an arbitrary user's numeric ID as the mergewith value, which causes wp_update_user() to overwrite the target account's username (additionally written via a direct $wpdb UPDATE), password, email address, first name, and last name with attacker-controlled values, while WordPress password and email change notification emails are explicitly suppressed. When wpm_id references a non-existent membership level, no role key is added to the update payload, causing wp_update_user() to preserve the target user's existing role — including administrator — making full privilege escalation a direct consequence of the takeover.

Title
SignUp & SignIn <= 1.0.0 - Unauthenticated Privilege Escalation via Weak Password Reset Validation via 'reset_activation_code' Leading to Account Takeover
Summary
The SignUp & SignIn plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Authentication Bypass via Weak Password Reset Validation leading to Account Takeover in versions up to, and including, 1.0.0. This is due to the `pravel_change_password()` AJAX handler — registered via `wp_ajax_nopriv_pravel_change_password` and therefore accessible to unauthenticated users — performing no nonce verification, no capability check, and only a loose equality check between an attacker-supplied `reset_activation_code` POST parameter and the target user's `forgot_email` user meta value; when a user has never initiated a password reset, `get_user_meta()` returns an empty string that trivially satisfies this check against an omitted or empty attacker-supplied code. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to change the password of any WordPress user, including administrators, by sending a crafted POST request to `admin-ajax.php` with `action=pravel_change_password`, `reset_user_id` set to the target account's user ID, and `new_password_custom` set to an attacker-chosen password. Successful exploitation allows the attacker to authenticate with the newly set password and fully take over the targeted account, achieving administrator-level privilege escalation on the affected site.

Title
Invoice Generator <= 1.0.0 - Unauthenticated Account Takeover via Weak Password Reset Validation via 'reset_user_id' Parameter
Summary
The Invoice Generator plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Account Takeover via Password Reset in all versions up to, and including, 1.0.0. This is due to the `pravel_invoice_change_password()` function being registered as a nopriv AJAX handler with no nonce verification and no authorization check, and performing a loose equality comparison between the supplied `reset_activation_code` POST parameter and the target user's stored `forgot_email` user meta — a check that trivially evaluates to true (`'' == ''`) for any user who has never initiated a forgot-password request, which applies to administrators under normal conditions. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to supply an arbitrary user ID via the `reset_user_id` POST parameter, bypass the activation code check entirely by omitting `reset_activation_code`, and set the target account's password to an attacker-chosen value, enabling full takeover of any account on the site, including administrator accounts.

Mitigation
Architecture and Design

Make sure that all input supplied by the user to the password recovery mechanism is thoroughly filtered and validated.

Mitigation
Architecture and Design

Do not use standard weak security questions and use several security questions.

Mitigation
Architecture and Design

Make sure that there is throttling on the number of incorrect answers to a security question. Disable the password recovery functionality after a certain (small) number of incorrect guesses.

Mitigation
Architecture and Design

Require that the user properly answers the security question prior to resetting their password and sending the new password to the e-mail address of record.

Mitigation
Architecture and Design

Never allow the user to control what e-mail address the new password will be sent to in the password recovery mechanism.

Mitigation
Architecture and Design

Assign a new temporary password rather than revealing the original password.

CAPEC-50: Password Recovery Exploitation

An attacker may take advantage of the application feature to help users recover their forgotten passwords in order to gain access into the system with the same privileges as the original user. Generally password recovery schemes tend to be weak and insecure.
