Title
Classified Listing <= 5.4.2 - Missing Authorization to Authenticated (Subscriber+) Feature Modification via Multiple AJAX Handlers ('listingId'/'id' Parameters)
Summary
The Classified Listing – Classified ads & Business Directory plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Missing Authorization in all versions up to, and including, 5.4.2. This is due to a missing capability/ownership check on the gallery_image_update_as_feature AJAX handler (action: rtcl_fb_gallery_image_update_as_feature), which accepts a user-supplied listing ID and attachment ID and sets the featured image of a listing while only validating a nonce that is exposed to any logged-in user on the frontend listing-submission form. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Subscriber-level access and above, to change the featured image of arbitrary listings they do not own.

Title
SP Project & Document Manager <= 4.71 - Missing Authorization to Unauthenticated Arbitrary File Information Disclosure via view_file() Function
Summary
The SP Project & Document Manager plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to unauthorized access due to a missing capability check on the view_file function in all versions up to, and including, 4.71. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to read file metadata and obtain download links for arbitrary files stored inside project folders on the server, which can contain sensitive information. The authorization gate uses a negated nonce check OR-chained with permission checks, meaning a missing or invalid nonce causes the entire condition to evaluate to true and bypass all preceding capability and ownership checks. The secondary fallback check only denies access for root-level files (pid == 0), leaving all files stored inside project folders fully exposed to unauthenticated users who supply only a valid file ID in a POST request to admin-ajax.php.

The secondary fallback check only denies access for root-level files (pid == 0), leaving all files stored inside project folders fully exposed to unauthenticated users who supply only a valid file ID in a POST request to admin-ajax.php."

Title
Points and Rewards for WooCommerce <= 2.10.1 - Missing Authorization to Authenticated (Subscriber+) Arbitrary Modification via Multiple AJAX Actions
Summary
The Points and Rewards for WooCommerce plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to authorization bypass in all versions up to, and including, 2.10.0. This is due to the plugin not properly verifying that a user is authorized to perform an action. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with subscriber-level access and above, to convert and drain any user's reward points into wallet balance, exfiltrate all users' emails and point balances to an attacker-controlled Klaviyo account, overwrite the site's Klaviyo public API key, block or unblock arbitrary users from the points system, and modify campaign banner and heading settings. The nonce used for authentication of these requests (wps-wpr-verify-nonce) is injected into every public-facing page via wp_localize_script(), and the wps_wpr_generate_custom_wallet handler is additionally registered on the wp_ajax_nopriv_ hook, meaning unauthenticated visitors can also obtain a valid nonce and exploit that specific action.

Title
Openshift/cluster-logging-operator: cluster logging operator creates and forwards serviceaccount tokens without verifying clf creator authorization
Summary
A missing authorization flaw was found in the OpenShift Cluster Logging Operator. The operator creates and forwards ServiceAccount tokens to output destinations without verifying that the ClusterLogForwarder creator has permission to use those credentials, allowing a delegated editor to exfiltrate SA tokens and escalate privileges.

Title
WP DSGVO Tools (GDPR) <= 3.1.39 - Missing Authorization to Unauthenticated Sensitive Personal Data Disclosure via subject-access-request AJAX Endpoint (process_now/is_ajax Parameters)
Summary
The WP DSGVO Tools (GDPR) plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to authorization bypass in all versions up to, and including, 3.1.39. This is due to the plugin not properly verifying that a user is authorized to perform an action. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to supply an arbitrary victim email address and trigger immediate SAR processing via the process_now and is_ajax parameters, receiving tokenized download links (zip_link, pdf_link) in the HTTP response that expose the victim's personal data — including WordPress account details, comment author names, email addresses, IP addresses, and comment content — without any proof of ownership. The nonce used for the CSRF check is publicly rendered by the SAR shortcode form and is shared across all anonymous visitors, meaning any unauthenticated attacker can trivially obtain a valid nonce and bypass this gate entirely.

Title
Event Koi Lite <= 1.3.13.1 - Missing Authorization to Unauthenticated Sensitive Information Exposure via REST API Endpoints
Summary
The Event Koi Lite – Events Calendar, Event Management, RSVP, and Tickets plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Sensitive Information Exposure in all versions up to, and including, 1.3.13.1 via the get_events. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to extract sensitive data including virtual meeting URLs, physical location data, latitude/longitude coordinates, Google Maps links, and RSVP configuration belonging to draft, pending, and private events that are otherwise inaccessible via public URLs.

Mitigation
Architecture and Design
  • Divide the product into anonymous, normal, privileged, and administrative areas. Reduce the attack surface by carefully mapping roles with data and functionality. Use role-based access control (RBAC) [REF-229] to enforce the roles at the appropriate boundaries.
  • Note that this approach may not protect against horizontal authorization, i.e., it will not protect a user from attacking others with the same role.
Mitigation
Architecture and Design

Ensure that access control checks are performed related to the business logic. These checks may be different than the access control checks that are applied to more generic resources such as files, connections, processes, memory, and database records. For example, a database may restrict access for medical records to a specific database user, but each record might only be intended to be accessible to the patient and the patient's doctor [REF-7].

Mitigation MIT-4.4
Architecture and Design

Strategy: Libraries or Frameworks

  • Use a vetted library or framework that does not allow this weakness to occur or provides constructs that make this weakness easier to avoid.
  • For example, consider using authorization frameworks such as the JAAS Authorization Framework [REF-233] and the OWASP ESAPI Access Control feature [REF-45].
Mitigation
Architecture and Design
  • For web applications, make sure that the access control mechanism is enforced correctly at the server side on every page. Users should not be able to access any unauthorized functionality or information by simply requesting direct access to that page.
  • One way to do this is to ensure that all pages containing sensitive information are not cached, and that all such pages restrict access to requests that are accompanied by an active and authenticated session token associated with a user who has the required permissions to access that page.
Mitigation
System Configuration Installation

Use the access control capabilities of your operating system and server environment and define your access control lists accordingly. Use a "default deny" policy when defining these ACLs.

CAPEC-665: Exploitation of Thunderbolt Protection Flaws

An adversary leverages a firmware weakness within the Thunderbolt protocol, on a computing device to manipulate Thunderbolt controller firmware in order to exploit vulnerabilities in the implementation of authorization and verification schemes within Thunderbolt protection mechanisms. Upon gaining physical access to a target device, the adversary conducts high-level firmware manipulation of the victim Thunderbolt controller SPI (Serial Peripheral Interface) flash, through the use of a SPI Programing device and an external Thunderbolt device, typically as the target device is booting up. If successful, this allows the adversary to modify memory, subvert authentication mechanisms, spoof identities and content, and extract data and memory from the target device. Currently 7 major vulnerabilities exist within Thunderbolt protocol with 9 attack vectors as noted in the Execution Flow.
