Title
Devs Accounting <= 1.2.0 - Missing Authorization to Unauthenticated Account Deletion via /delete-account/ REST Endpoint
Summary
The Devs Accounting – Simple Accounting and Invoicing Solution plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to unauthorized modification/deletion of data due to a missing capability check on the delete_single_account() function in versions up to, and including, 1.2.0. The REST route 'devs-accounting/v1/delete-account/(?P<id>\d+)' is registered without any permission_callback, which causes WordPress to expose the endpoint to public, unauthenticated access. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to soft-delete arbitrary accounting account records (wp_dac_accounts) by issuing a simple GET request to the endpoint with any account ID.

Title
Missing authorization vulnerability in GitHub Enterprise Server allowed disclosure of private repository contents via the Copilot pull request diff summary endpoint
Summary
A missing authorization vulnerability was identified in GitHub Enterprise Server that allowed an authenticated user to read source code from private repositories they did not have access to. The Copilot pull request description diff summary endpoint accepted a cross-repository comparison range and rendered the resulting diff without verifying that the requesting user was authorized to view the target repository. Exploitation required an authenticated account on the instance with read access to at least one repository to use as the comparison base. This vulnerability affected all versions of GitHub Enterprise Server prior to 3.21 and was fixed in versions 3.17.17, 3.18.11, 3.19.8, and 3.20.4. This vulnerability was reported via the GitHub Bug Bounty program.

Title
CorvusPay WooCommerce Payment Gateway <= 2.7.4 - Missing Authorization to Unauthenticated Arbitrary Order Cancellation via 'order_number' Parameter
Summary
The CorvusPay WooCommerce Payment Gateway plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to authorization bypass in all versions up to, and including, 2.7.4. This is due to the plugin not properly verifying that a user is authorized to perform an action. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to cancel any WooCommerce order placed via the CorvusPay payment method by supplying an arbitrary order number to the /wp-json/corvuspay/cancel/ REST endpoint.

Title
Easy Invoice <= 2.1.19 - Unauthenticated Arbitrary Quote Accept/Decline and Invoice Creation via easy_invoice_accept_quote / easy_invoice_decline_quote AJAX Actions
Summary
The Easy Invoice plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Missing Authorization in versions up to, and including, 2.1.19. This is due to the plugin registering the easy_invoice_accept_quote and easy_invoice_decline_quote AJAX actions via wp_ajax_nopriv_ hooks and relying solely on a quote-scoped nonce that is rendered into the publicly accessible single quote template, combined with an ownership check that is gated behind an off-by-default Pro option (easy_invoice_pro_restrict_quote_to_client). This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to accept or decline arbitrary published quotes — and, depending on the configured accept action, automatically convert them into invoices (and even email them to the client) — by harvesting the per-quote nonce from the public quote page and submitting it to admin-ajax.

Title
NEX-Forms <= 9.2.2 - Missing Authorization to Unauthenticated Arbitrary Form Entry Modification via nf_send_nf_email AJAX Action
Summary
The NEX-Forms – Ultimate Forms Plugin for WordPress plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to authorization bypass in all versions up to, and including, 9.2.2. This is due to the plugin not properly verifying that a user is authorized to perform an action. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to overwrite the saved_admin_email, saved_user_email, and saved_user_email_address fields of arbitrary form entries belonging to other users, and cause the site to dispatch attacker-controlled email content to attacker-chosen recipient addresses.

Title
Equalize Digital Accessibility Checker <= 1.42.0 - Missing Authorization to Authenticated (Subscriber+) Arbitrary Accessibility Issue Modification via edac_insert_ignore_data AJAX Action
Summary
The Equalize Digital Accessibility Checker – WCAG, ADA, EAA and Section 508 compliance plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to authorization bypass in all versions up to, and including, 1.42.0. This is due to the plugin not properly verifying that a user is authorized to perform an action. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with subscriber-level access and above, to modify the ignore state, ignore reason, and ignore comment of arbitrary accessibility issues across the entire site — including mass modification of all rows sharing an 'object' identifier when largeBatch=true is supplied — corrupting accessibility audit integrity by hiding or dismissing findings outside their authorization scope.

Title
WP Promoter <= 1.3 - Missing Authorization to Unauthenticated Statistics Reset via wpp-reset_stats AJAX Action
Summary
The WP Promoter plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to unauthorized modification of data due to a missing capability check on the reset_stats() function in versions up to, and including, 1.3. The function is hooked to both the wp_ajax_wpp-reset_stats and wp_ajax_nopriv_wpp-reset_stats actions and contains no authentication, authorization, or nonce validation. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to reset the plugin's bar and popup statistics by deleting the wpp_bar and wpp_popup options.

Title
Bogo <= 3.9.1 - Missing Authorization to Authenticated (Subscriber+) Sensitive Information Exposure via REST API
Summary
The Bogo plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Sensitive Information Exposure in all versions up to, and including, 3.9.1 via the bogo_rest_create_post_translation. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with subscriber-level access and above, to extract the raw title, content, excerpt, and password of any private, draft, or password-protected post by triggering its duplication via the translation endpoint and reading the returned title.raw, content.raw, and excerpt.raw fields of the duplicated post. This vulnerability is exploitable against posts written in a non-default locale, as authenticated subscribers can request a translation into the site's default locale to pass the locale-only permission gate. While subscribers can trigger the endpoint, this is only impactful at the Contributor-level as they can actually read the duplicated content.

Title
Ditty <= 3.1.65 - Missing Authorization to Unauthenticated Sensitive Information Disclosure via ditty_init AJAX Action
Summary
The Ditty – Responsive News Tickers, Sliders, and Lists plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to authorization bypass in all versions up to, and including, 3.1.65. This is due to the plugin not properly verifying that a user is authorized to perform an action. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to retrieve the full item content of non-public Dittys — including drafts, pending, scheduled, and disabled entries — by enumerating integer post IDs against the ditty_init AJAX endpoint. Unlike the non-AJAX init() counterpart, init_ajax() does not verify that the requested Ditty has a 'publish' post status before loading and returning its items, allowing content that administrators explicitly withheld from public view to be extracted.

Mitigation
Architecture and Design
  • Divide the product into anonymous, normal, privileged, and administrative areas. Reduce the attack surface by carefully mapping roles with data and functionality. Use role-based access control (RBAC) [REF-229] to enforce the roles at the appropriate boundaries.
  • Note that this approach may not protect against horizontal authorization, i.e., it will not protect a user from attacking others with the same role.
Mitigation
Architecture and Design

Ensure that access control checks are performed related to the business logic. These checks may be different than the access control checks that are applied to more generic resources such as files, connections, processes, memory, and database records. For example, a database may restrict access for medical records to a specific database user, but each record might only be intended to be accessible to the patient and the patient's doctor [REF-7].

Mitigation MIT-4.4
Architecture and Design

Strategy: Libraries or Frameworks

  • Use a vetted library or framework that does not allow this weakness to occur or provides constructs that make this weakness easier to avoid.
  • For example, consider using authorization frameworks such as the JAAS Authorization Framework [REF-233] and the OWASP ESAPI Access Control feature [REF-45].
Mitigation
Architecture and Design
  • For web applications, make sure that the access control mechanism is enforced correctly at the server side on every page. Users should not be able to access any unauthorized functionality or information by simply requesting direct access to that page.
  • One way to do this is to ensure that all pages containing sensitive information are not cached, and that all such pages restrict access to requests that are accompanied by an active and authenticated session token associated with a user who has the required permissions to access that page.
Mitigation
System Configuration Installation

Use the access control capabilities of your operating system and server environment and define your access control lists accordingly. Use a "default deny" policy when defining these ACLs.

CAPEC-665: Exploitation of Thunderbolt Protection Flaws

An adversary leverages a firmware weakness within the Thunderbolt protocol, on a computing device to manipulate Thunderbolt controller firmware in order to exploit vulnerabilities in the implementation of authorization and verification schemes within Thunderbolt protection mechanisms. Upon gaining physical access to a target device, the adversary conducts high-level firmware manipulation of the victim Thunderbolt controller SPI (Serial Peripheral Interface) flash, through the use of a SPI Programing device and an external Thunderbolt device, typically as the target device is booting up. If successful, this allows the adversary to modify memory, subvert authentication mechanisms, spoof identities and content, and extract data and memory from the target device. Currently 7 major vulnerabilities exist within Thunderbolt protocol with 9 attack vectors as noted in the Execution Flow.
