Title
GHSL-2026-122 7-Zip Ar SYMDEF OOB Read
Summary
7-Zip is a file archiver with a high compression ratio. Versions 9.18 through 26.00 contain a heap out-of-bounds read in 7-Zip Ar handler BSD SYMDEF parser. A 4-byte heap out-of-bounds read exists in the Unix ar archive parser in 7-Zip. When parsing a BSD-style __.SYMDEF symbol table, the ParseLibSymbols function reads a 32-bit namesSize field via Get32 at a position that can equal the buffer size, reading 4 bytes past the end of the heap allocation. This reads uninitialized heap data under the default allocator. Version 26.01 patches the issue.

Title
VPN service may restart unexpectedly when processing IKE traffic over NAT-T 4500/UDP
Summary
The Security Gateway does not correctly validate a length value in certain IKE packets when NAT-T is used (4500/UDP). As a result, a specially crafted or malformed packet can cause the VPN processing service to terminate unexpectedly, leading to denial of service (temporary interruption of VPN negotiations/traffic).

NGINX ngx_http_charset_module vulnerability
Summary
NGINX Plus and NGINX Open Source have a vulnerability in the ngx_http_charset_module module. When content is served or proxied through a location block with both source_charset utf-8; and a charset directive (for example, charset koi8-r;) configured, remote, unauthenticated attackers can send requests (in conjunction with conditions beyond their control) to cause a heap buffer over-read in the NGINX worker process, leading to limited disclosure of memory or a restart.
Note: Software versions which have reached End of Technical Support (EoTS) are not evaluated.

Title
MessagePack-CSharp: Denial of service vulnerabilities can swamp the CPU or crash the process with stack and heap overflows
Summary
MessagePack for C# is a MessagePack serializer for C#. Prior to 2.5.301 and 3.1.7, MessagePackReader.ReadDateTime() can allocate stack memory based on an attacker-controlled MessagePack extension length. In the slow path for timestamp extension parsing, the computed tokenSize includes the extension body length from the wire and is used in a stackalloc operation before the extension length is validated as one of the valid timestamp sizes. A very small payload can claim a large timestamp extension body and cause a stack allocation large enough to trigger an uncatchable StackOverflowException, terminating the host process. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.5.301 and 3.1.7.

Title
libheif: Wrapped icef compressed-unit range check causes out-of-bounds read in uncompressed HEIF decoder
Summary
libheif is a HEIF and AVIF file format decoder and encoder. Prior to version 1.22.1, the uncompressed HEIF decoder validates explicit icef compressed-unit offsets using unit_offset + unit_size. Because the addition can wrap, a crafted HEIF file can pass the range check and then construct a vector from iterators outside the compressed item buffer, producing an out-of-bounds heap read and crash. Version 1.22.1 patches the issue.

FreeSWITCH: Out-of-bounds memory access in core STUN attribute parsing

FreeSWITCH is a Software Defined Telecom Stack enabling the digital transformation from proprietary telecom switches to a software implementation that runs on any commodity hardware. Prior to version 1.11.0, a STUN packet whose declared attribute length is shorter than the structure the parser casts to causes the parser to read and write past the end of the attribute, producing an out-of-bounds memory access on the per-leg media buffer. This issue has been patched in version 1.11.0.

An out-of-bounds read flaw was found in the X.Org X server and Xwayland in __glXDisp_ChangeDrawableAttributes(). A wrong size validation check can read a client-controlled number of bytes, exceeding the request buffer, leading to information disclosure. A write path also exists but requires byte-swapped clients which is disabled by default.

Out‑of‑Bounds Read in 8cc
Summary
8cc is vulnerable to an Out‑of‑Bounds Read due to improper handling of #line directives and GNU linemarkers. The compiler accepts attacker-controlled filename and line number metadata and later uses it without validation when accessing source line arrays.
By supplying invalid or oversized line numbers, an attacker can trigger out-of-bounds memory access and a crash.

Description:
- Assume all input is malicious. Use an "accept known good" input validation strategy, i.e., use a list of acceptable inputs that strictly conform to specifications. Reject any input that does not strictly conform to specifications, or transform it into something that does.
- When performing input validation, consider all potentially relevant properties, including length, type of input, the full range of acceptable values, missing or extra inputs, syntax, consistency across related fields, and conformance to business rules. As an example of business rule logic, "boat" may be syntactically valid because it only contains alphanumeric characters, but it is not valid if the input is only expected to contain colors such as "red" or "blue."
- Do not rely exclusively on looking for malicious or malformed inputs. This is likely to miss at least one undesirable input, especially if the code's environment changes. This can give attackers enough room to bypass the intended validation. However, denylists can be useful for detecting potential attacks or determining which inputs are so malformed that they should be rejected outright.
- To reduce the likelihood of introducing an out-of-bounds read, ensure that you validate and ensure correct calculations for any length argument, buffer size calculation, or offset. Be especially careful of relying on a sentinel (i.e. special character such as NUL) in untrusted inputs.

An adversary attacks a target by providing input that causes an application to read beyond the boundary of a defined buffer. This typically occurs when a value influencing where to start or stop reading is set to reflect positions outside of the valid memory location of the buffer. This type of attack may result in exposure of sensitive information, a system crash, or arbitrary code execution.
