net: davicom: fix UAF in dm9000_drv_remove
Summary
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: davicom: fix UAF in dm9000_drv_remove
dm is netdev private data and it cannot be
used after free_netdev() call. Using dm after free_netdev()
can cause UAF bug. Fix it by moving free_netdev() at the end of the
function.
This is similar to the issue fixed in commit
ad297cd2db89 ("net: qcom/emac: fix UAF in emac_remove").

Title
exfat: fix random stack corruption after get_block
Summary
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
exfat: fix random stack corruption after get_block
When get_block is called with a buffer_head allocated on the stack, such
as do_mpage_readpage, stack corruption due to buffer_head UAF may occur in
the following race condition situation.
<CPU 0> <CPU 1>
mpage_read_folio
<<bh on stack>>
do_mpage_readpage
exfat_get_block
bh_read
__bh_read
get_bh(bh)
submit_bh
wait_on_buffer
...
end_buffer_read_sync
__end_buffer_read_notouch
unlock_buffer
<<keep going>>
...
...
...
...
<<bh is not valid out of mpage_read_folio>>
.
.
another_function
<<variable A on stack>>
put_bh(bh)
atomic_dec(bh->b_count)
* stack corruption here *
This patch returns -EAGAIN if a folio does not have buffers when bh_read
needs to be called. By doing this, the caller can fallback to functions
like block_read_full_folio(), create a buffer_head in the folio, and then
call get_block again.
Let's do not call bh_read() with on-stack buffer_head.

Title
posix-cpu-timers: fix race between handle_posix_cpu_timers() and posix_cpu_timer_del()
Summary
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
posix-cpu-timers: fix race between handle_posix_cpu_timers() and posix_cpu_timer_del()
If an exiting non-autoreaping task has already passed exit_notify() and
calls handle_posix_cpu_timers() from IRQ, it can be reaped by its parent
or debugger right after unlock_task_sighand().
If a concurrent posix_cpu_timer_del() runs at that moment, it won't be
able to detect timer->it.cpu.firing != 0: cpu_timer_task_rcu() and/or
lock_task_sighand() will fail.
Add the tsk->exit_state check into run_posix_cpu_timers() to fix this.
This fix is not needed if CONFIG_POSIX_CPU_TIMERS_TASK_WORK=y, because
exit_task_work() is called before exit_notify(). But the check still
makes sense, task_work_add(&tsk->posix_cputimers_work.work) will fail
anyway in this case.
AV:L - The vulnerability is reached purely through local syscalls — `timer_create`/`timer_settime`/`timer_delete` (or `clock_nanosleep`) plus `ptrace`/`waitpid` to control task reaping — with the trigger arriving via the local timer tick. There is no network-facing path into posix-cpu-timers.
AC:L - The attacker controls both sides of the race: it arms the CPU timer expiry, chooses the precise moment of `release_task()` by calling `waitpid()` from its own parent/tracer, and issues the concurrent `timer_delete()` from a sibling thread — retryable in a tight loop and widenable by queueing up to 20 timers on the firing list. Real-world exploitation of this exact bug confirms it is reliably winnable.
PR:L - No capability or permission check exists anywhere on the path — `validate_clock_permissions()`/`pid_for_clock()` gate only on thread-group/pid existence, and `grep` for `capable`/`CAP_` in both posix-timers files returns nothing. Any unprivileged local user, including a seccomp-confined Android app UID, can reach it.
UI:N - The attacker's own processes and threads perform every step — creating the timer, exiting the traced thread, reaping it, and deleting the timer. No victim action of any kind is needed.
S:U - The use-after-free corrupts kernel heap objects and escalates within the kernel's own security authority, which is standard kernel privilege escalation. No hypervisor, IOMMU, or other security-authority boundary is crossed.
C:H - The freed `struct sigqueue` is linked into the signal pending list by `send_sigqueue()` and later copied out to userspace through `dequeue_signal()`/`rt_sigtimedwait()`, disclosing whatever now occupies the reclaimed slab object — an effectively arbitrary kernel-memory read. The `do_cpu_nanosleep()` variant additionally exposes reclaimed kernel stack.
I:H - `send_sigqueue()` writes into the freed object (`q->info.si_overrun++`) and performs a `list_add_tail()` linked-list insertion on attacker-resprayable memory, followed by a double free on dequeue — a classic controlled-write primitive leading to full privilege escalation, as demonstrated by in-the-wild exploitation of this flaw.
A:H - Even without successful exploitation the race causes `BUG_ON(!(q->flags & SIGQUEUE_PREALLOC))` in `send_sigqueue()`, `WARN_ON_ONCE()` in the delete path, list corruption, and a double free — any of which oops or panic the kernel. Spinning the race is trivially repeatable as a denial of service."

Summary
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

The iMON driver improperly releases the usb_device reference in
imon_disconnect without coordinating with active users of the
device.
Specifically, the fields usbdev_intf0 and usbdev_intf1 are not
protected by the users counter (ictx->users). During probe,
imon_init_intf0 or imon_init_intf1 increments the usb_device
reference count depending on the interface. However, during
disconnect, usb_put_dev is called unconditionally, regardless of
actual usage.
As a result, if vfd_write or other operations are still in
progress after disconnect, this can lead to a use-after-free of
the usb_device pointer.

ictx->usbdev_intf0) UAF
else

ictx->usbdev_intf0, 0) UAF
Guard access to usbdev_intf0 and usbdev_intf1 after disconnect by
checking ictx->disconnected in all writer paths. Add early return
with -ENODEV in send_packet(), vfd_write(), lcd_write() and
display_open() if the device is no longer present.
Set and read ictx->disconnected under ictx->lock to ensure memory
synchronization. Acquire the lock in imon_disconnect() before setting
the flag to synchronize with any ongoing operations.
Ensure writers exit early and safely after disconnect before the USB
core proceeds with cleanup.

During probe,
imon_init_intf0 or imon_init_intf1 increments the usb_device
reference count depending on the interface. However, during
disconnect, usb_put_dev is called unconditionally, regardless of
actual usage.

As a result, if vfd_write or other operations are still in
progress after disconnect, this can lead to a use-after-free of
the usb_device pointer.

Thread 1 vfd_write Thread 2 imon_disconnect
...
if
usb_put_dev(ictx->usbdev_intf0)
else
usb_put_dev(ictx->usbdev_intf1)
...
while
send_packet
if
pipe = usb_sndintpipe(
ictx->usbdev_intf0) UAF
else
pipe = usb_sndctrlpipe(
ictx->usbdev_intf0, 0) UAF

Guard access to usbdev_intf0 and usbdev_intf1 after disconnect by
checking ictx->disconnected in all writer paths. Add early return
with -ENODEV in send_packet(), vfd_write(), lcd_write() and
display_open() if the device is no longer present.

Found by Linux Verification Center (linuxtesting.org) with Syzkaller.
AV:L - The vulnerable code is reached through an ordinary `write(2)` syscall on the `/dev/lcd0` character device (`vfd_write`/`lcd_write` → `send_packet`), i.e. a local attack surface reached via a device file, with no network exposure. The disconnect that frees the `usb_device` is a triggering condition the attacker supplies (their own removable/emulated iMON device or an unplug event), not the attack interface itself.
AC:L - The attacker controls both sides of the race: they drive an unbounded loop of `write()` calls that hold `ictx->lock` for seconds at a time (`send_packet` waits up to 10 s per packet, six packets per write) while triggering device removal, giving an extremely wide and repeatable window. Syzkaller reproduces it, and failed attempts are harmless, so it can be retried until it lands.
PR:L - No capability, `CAP_SYS_ADMIN`, or other privilege check exists anywhere on the path — `display_open()` only checks `display_supported`/`display_isopen`, and `vfd_write`/`lcd_write` go straight to `send_packet()`. Any unprivileged process able to open the display node (routinely group-accessible on media/HTPC systems, and the node the LIRC/LCDproc userspace stack writes to) can trigger it.
UI:N - The attacker's own process performs the writes, and the disconnect side is produced by the attacker's device or unplug action rather than by a victim. No action by another user is needed at any point.
S:U - The use-after-free corrupts kernel memory within the same kernel security authority; there is no VM, IOMMU, or sandbox boundary crossed.
C:H - The freed `struct usb_device` is read via `__create_pipe()` (`dev->devnum`) and then throughout `usb_submit_urb()` (`dev->state`, `dev->ep_out[]`, `dev->bus`), so an attacker who reclaims the slab object can read back kernel data and pointers, and the UAF is a general primitive for arbitrary memory disclosure.
I:H - The stale pointer is stored into the URB and submitted, causing `usb_get_dev(urb->dev)` to write (atomic increment) into freed memory and `bus_to_hcd(urb->dev->bus)->driver->urb_enqueue()` to make an indirect call through a chain rooted in attacker-reclaimable memory — a control-flow hijack and arbitrary-write primitive.
A:H - Even without heap grooming, dereferencing and submitting an URB against a freed `usb_device` reliably produces a KASAN splat, oops, or panic, as shown in the syzbot report, and the attacker can repeat it at will."
