If protection
information is generated, that portion of the integrity buffer is
already initialized. The integrity data is also zeroed if PI generation
is disabled via sysfs or the PI tuple size is 0. However, this misses
the case where PI is generated and the PI tuple size is nonzero, but the
metadata size is larger than the PI tuple. In this case, the remainder
("opaque") of the metadata is left uninitialized.
Generalize the BLK_INTEGRITY_CSUM_NONE check to cover any case when the
metadata is larger than just the PI tuple."

In a reasonable namespaced/delegated BPF deployment this is low privilege rather than host-root-only.
UI:N - No victim action is required after the attacker has local access and the needed BPF privileges; the trigger is entirely attacker-driven.
S:U - The vulnerability is in the host kernel AF_UNIX/SOCKMAP implementation and impacts the same kernel security authority. This is standard kernel memory corruption/DoS rather than a hypervisor or device isolation boundary escape.
C:H - The bug produces a use-after-free on AF_UNIX socket/SCM graph state after SOCKMAP hides redirected skb SCM attributes. Per kernel scoring guidance, UAF memory corruption is treated as capable of high confidentiality impact.
I:H - The freed socket/graph state can be reused while kernel GC follows stale pointers, making this memory corruption potentially exploitable beyond a simple crash. Per guidance, UAF is scored as high integrity impact.
A:H - The reported failure is a KASAN slab-use-after-free in AF_UNIX GC/workqueue processing, and the hidden inflight-fd skb state can also leak socket references. This can cause kernel oops/panic or sustained resource exhaustion."

The race happens when one blkg's
__blkcg_rstat_flush() removes another blkg's iostat entries via
llist_del_all(). The second blkg sees an empty list and proceeds
to free itself while the first is still iterating over its entries.

Move the flush from __blkg_release() (RCU callback) to blkg_release()
(before call_rcu). This ensures the RCU grace period waits for any
concurrent flush's rcu_read_lock() section to complete before freeing.
AV:L - Exploitation requires local cgroup management (rmdir on cgroupfs) and concurrent block I/O to populate per-blkcg rstat lists; the vulnerable code is in the block cgroup teardown path, not in any network protocol handler.
AC:L - The attacker controls both sides of the race by issuing I/O on multiple block devices to create multiple blkgs with pending stats, then concurrently destroying the cgroup to trigger parallel blkg_release() calls on multiple CPUs.
PR:L - Triggering cgroup deletion and block I/O requires only delegated cgroup write access or namespace/container root (CAP_SYS_ADMIN in a user namespace), not init-namespace root; this is routinely available in containers, Kubernetes pods, and systemd user cgroup hierarchies.
UI:N - No victim interaction is required; the attacker programmatically performs I/O and cgroup teardown from their own process or container.
S:U - The UAF corrupts kernel heap memory within the same kernel security domain; it does not inherently cross a VM, container, or IOMMU boundary without a separate privilege-escalation step.
C:H - The use-after-free dereferences freed blkg structures and associated iostat data during list iteration, enabling arbitrary kernel memory read primitives typical of slab UAF bugs.
I:H - UAF on kmalloc-allocated blkg objects allows heap grooming and write through dangling pointers, which can be leveraged for arbitrary kernel memory modification or code execution.
A:H - Concurrent use-after-free during blkg teardown can cause immediate kernel oops/panic from accessing freed memory, and repeated triggering enables reliable denial of service.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

mac802154: llsec: add skb_cow_data() before in-place crypto

llsec_do_encrypt_unauth(), llsec_do_encrypt_auth(),
llsec_do_decrypt_unauth(), and llsec_do_decrypt_auth() all perform
in-place cryptographic transformations on skb data. They build a
scatterlist with sg_init_one() pointing into the skb's linear data area
and then pass the same scatterlist as both src and dst to the crypto API
(e.g. crypto_skcipher_encrypt/decrypt, crypto_aead_encrypt/decrypt).

On the RX path, __ieee802154_rx_handle_packet() clones the received skb
before handing it to each subscriber via ieee802154_subif_frame(). The
cloned skb shares the same underlying data buffer via reference
counting. When llsec_do_decrypt() subsequently modifies this shared
buffer in place, it corrupts data that other clones -- potentially
belonging to other sockets or subsystems -- still reference.

On the TX path, similar data sharing can occur when an skb's head has
been cloned (skb_cloned() returns true).

The fix is to call skb_cow_data() before performing any in-place crypto
operation. skb_cow_data() ensures that the skb's data area is not
shared: if the skb head is cloned or the data spans multiple fragments,
it copies the data into a private buffer that can be safely modified in
place. This is the same pattern used by:

- ESP (net/ipv4/esp4.c, net/ipv6/esp6.c)
- MACsec (drivers/net/macsec.c)
- WireGuard (drivers/net/wireguard/receive.c)
- TIPC (net/tipc/crypto.c)

Without this guard, in-place crypto on shared skb data leads to:
- Silent data corruption of other skb clones
- Use-after-free when the crypto API scatterwalk writes through a
page that has already been freed by another clone's kfree_skb()
- Kernel crashes under concurrent 802.15.4 traffic with security
enabled (KASAN/KMSAN reports slab-use-after-free)

Found by 0sec (https://0sec.ai) using automated source analysis."

No network-facing server path (ksmbd, nfsd, nvmet) calls `bio_integrity_copy_user()`.
AC:L - An attacker fully controls the conditions needed to hit the copy path and trigger the bad index: misaligned or multi-segment integrity user buffers force `copy=true`, multi-page scatter yields `nr_bvecs>1`, and concurrent O_DIRECT integrity writes to the same queue trigger `integrity_req_gap_*_merge()` that dereferences the corrupted `bip_vcnt`.
PR:L - No kernel capabilities or init-namespace root are required beyond permission to open and perform O_DIRECT I/O on an integrity-enabled block device (`/dev/nvme*`, SCSI DIF disk); io_uring and NVMe ioctls are available to any local user granted device access (e.g., disk group, container volume mounts on storage nodes).
UI:N - Exploitation is self-initiated by the attacker issuing crafted integrity I/O; no victim interaction such as mounting a filesystem or opening a file is required.
S:U - Impact is confined to kernel memory safety within the block-integrity path on the host; it does not cross a VM, IOMMU, or sandbox security boundary.
C:H - On WRITE, `bip_vcnt` is incorrectly set to `nr_vecs` while `bip_max_vcnt` is 1, so `integrity_req_gap_back_merge()`/`integrity_req_gap_front_merge()` in `block/blk.h` index `bip_vec[bip_vcnt-1]` past the single-slot kmalloc flex array, causing an out-of-bounds read of adjacent kernel heap memory that can disclose kernel pointers and other sensitive data.
I:H - The corrupted `bip_vcnt` breaks integrity metadata bookkeeping during bio/request merging; on READ it causes gap-merge logic to consult saved user bvecs instead of the kernel bounce buffer, and the heap OOB read corrupts kernel memory-safety invariants in ways that can be chained toward further memory corruption or control-flow manipulation.
A:H - With large `nr_bvecs` (up to `BIO_MAX_VECS`), the out-of-bounds `bip_vec` access can extend far beyond the kmalloc object boundary and provoke a kernel oops/page fault during merge processing; even without full exploitation, the integrity path malfunction can destabilize the I/O stack."

However, if the command
arrived via the nvmet_tcp_handle_req_failure() path, nvmet_req_init()
had returned false and percpu_ref_tryget_live() was never executed. The DEL-IP for L passes the D8 check and
calls sctp_assoc_rm_peer() on the transport that asconf->transport still
points at, freeing it (RCU-deferred). The following wildcard DEL-IP then
reuses the now-dangling asconf->transport in sctp_assoc_set_primary() and
sctp_assoc_del_nonprimary_peers(): set_primary() dereferences the freed
transport (->ipaddr, ->state) and plants the dangling pointer into
asoc->peer.primary_path / active_path, and del_nonprimary_peers(), keeping
only the pointer that is no longer on the list, removes every real
transport, leaving the association with a transport_count of 0 and
primary_path/active_path pointing at freed memory.

Reject a DEL-IP that targets the transport the ASCONF is being processed
against, mirroring the existing source-address guard, so the wildcard
branch can never reuse a freed transport."

When a
master instance is closed, remove_slave_links() clears each slave's
->timer; the slave's own close then reads timer == NULL and takes the
branch that skips the drain entirely (snd_timer_stop_slave() also no-ops
on a NULL timer). So a slave whose callback is still running when the
master is closed is freed underneath the live callback, leading to
use-after-free.

Drain the slaves too before remove_slave_links() severs them.
snd_timer_stop() has already taken this instance off the active list, so
no new slave callback can be queued. Take the slaves off the ack list so
a pending one can't fire either, then wait for any that is already in
flight."
