Title
net, sunrpc: Remap EPERM in case of connection failure in xs_tcp_setup_socket
Summary
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net, sunrpc: Remap EPERM in case of connection failure in xs_tcp_setup_socket
When using a BPF program on kernel_connect(), the call can return -EPERM. This
causes xs_tcp_setup_socket() to loop forever, filling up the syslog and causing
the kernel to potentially freeze up.
Neil suggested:
This will propagate -EPERM up into other layers which might not be ready
to handle it. It might be safer to map EPERM to an error we would be more
likely to expect from the network system - such as ECONNREFUSED or ENETDOWN.
ECONNREFUSED as error seems reasonable. For programs setting a different error
can be out of reach (see handling in 4fbac77d2d09) in particular on kernels
which do not have f10d05966196 ("bpf: Make BPF_PROG_RUN_ARRAY return -err
instead of allow boolean"), thus given that it is better to simply remap for
consistent behavior. UDP does handle EPERM in xs_udp_send_request().

UDP does handle EPERM in xs_udp_send_request()."

Title
drm/i915/gem: Fix Virtual Memory mapping boundaries calculation
Summary
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/i915/gem: Fix Virtual Memory mapping boundaries calculation
Calculating the size of the mapped area as the lesser value
between the requested size and the actual size does not consider
the partial mapping offset. This can cause page fault access.
Fix the calculation of the starting and ending addresses, the
total size is now deduced from the difference between the end and
start addresses.
Additionally, the calculations have been rewritten in a clearer
and more understandable form.
AV:L - Exploitation requires local access to the i915 DRM device node (`/dev/dri/renderD128` or `card0`) to issue GEM_CREATE/GEM_MMAP_OFFSET ioctls, mmap the returned fake offset, and take a page fault. There is no network-reachable path to `vm_fault_gtt()`.
AC:L - The attacker fully controls every input: object size (larger than the mappable aperture, deterministically forcing the partial-view path), mmap length (chosen non-chunk-aligned so `partial.offset + min(vma->size, vma_len) > vma_len`), and the faulting address. No race, no dependence on uncontrolled memory layout.
PR:L - Both `I915_GEM_CREATE` and `I915_GEM_MMAP_OFFSET` are `DRM_RENDER_ALLOW`, so an ordinary unprivileged user with render-node access — the logged-in desktop user, a member of the `render`/`video` group, or any container with `/dev/dri` passed through — can reach the code. No root or capability is needed.
UI:N - The attacking process performs the ioctl, mmap and memory access entirely on its own; no victim action or interaction is involved.
S:U - The corruption occurs in kernel-managed page tables and the GPU aperture within the same kernel security authority; this is standard local kernel compromise rather than a VM or IOMMU boundary crossing.
C:H - Up to ~1 MB of aperture PTEs are installed outside the VMA and are never zapped by i915's revocation path (`unmap_mapping_range` clamps to the VMA), so after the GGTT window is reused the attacker keeps a live read window onto arbitrary physical pages — other processes' GEM buffers, framebuffers, ring buffers and GPU page tables.
I:H - The same out-of-bounds PTEs are writable write-combining mappings, giving an out-of-bounds write over neighbouring VMAs' page tables and, via the unrevoked stale aperture mapping, write access to GGTT/PPGTT page-table objects — which converts into arbitrary DMA and kernel code execution.
A:H - Page tables are populated for addresses covered by no VMA (and PTEs are overwritten in unrelated VMAs), producing the "page fault access" cited in the fix, pgtable accounting mismatches and oopses/panics; the attacker can trigger this repeatedly at will."

Title
protect the fetch of ->fd[fd] in do_dup2() from mispredictions
Summary
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
protect the fetch of ->fd[fd] in do_dup2() from mispredictions
both callers have verified that fd is not greater than ->max_fds;
however, misprediction might end up with
tofree = fdt->fd[fd];
being speculatively executed. That's wrong for the same reasons
why it's wrong in close_fd()/file_close_fd_locked(); the same
solution applies - array_index_nospec(fd, fdt->max_fds) could differ
from fd only in case of speculative execution on mispredicted path.
Severity

sched: act_ct: take care of padding in struct zones_ht_key
Summary
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
sched: act_ct: take care of padding in struct zones_ht_key
Blamed commit increased lookup key size from 2 bytes to 16 bytes,
because zones_ht_key got a struct net pointer.
Make sure rhashtable_lookup() is not using the padding bytes
which are not initialized.
AV:L - The vulnerable code is reached only through an RTM_NEWTFILTER/RTM_NEWACTION rtnetlink message on a local AF_NETLINK socket (tc filter/action installation), not from any remote or adjacent packet path. Per kernel scoring guidance, tc/netlink qdisc and action configuration is Local.
AC:L - The uninitialised padding is read on every single `tcf_ct_flow_table_get()` call, so one `tc filter add ... action ct zone N` triggers it deterministically with no race to win and no memory-layout luck required. The stack residue is itself shaped by the attacker's own netlink attribute parsing on the same call path, so the attacker also influences the garbage that gets hashed.
PR:L - The RTM_NEWTFILTER path is gated only by `netlink_net_capable(skb, CAP_NET_ADMIN)`, which checks the capability in the netns owner's user namespace, so an ordinary unprivileged user obtains it via `unshare -Urn` and needs only `lo` to attach a qdisc and an `action ct` filter. No real root in the init namespace is required.
UI:N - The attacker performs the entire sequence — create the user/net namespace, add the ingress qdisc, install the ct action — with no victim participation. No file must be opened, mounted or clicked by another user.
S:U - The uninitialised read, the resulting hashtable corruption and the resource growth all occur within the kernel's own security authority; no VM, IOMMU or sandbox boundary is crossed. Standard kernel-local impact, so Scope is Unchanged.
C:H - Six bytes of uninitialised kernel stack residue — which on this call path can hold netlink-parsing leftovers and kernel pointer fragments — are read and then persisted verbatim into the long-lived heap `tcf_ct_flow_table` object, and are used to derive the hash bucket. Consistent with how KMSAN uninit-value defects are treated, use of uninitialised kernel memory is scored as a high confidentiality impact.
I:H - Hashing and comparing over uninitialised bytes corrupts the integrity of the global `zones_ht` keyspace: identical `(net, zone)` pairs no longer match, so duplicate and effectively unreachable entries accumulate and the netns-isolation invariant that commit 88c67aeb1407 introduced becomes unreliable. Conntrack flow-offload state is consequently split across duplicate tables, silently corrupting connection tracking decisions for traffic the action handles.
A:H - Each failed lookup allocates a fresh `tcf_ct_flow_table` plus a full `nf_flow_table_init()` — a private rhashtable, an entry on the global `flowtables` list, and a GC work item requeued every jiffy-second — so an unprivileged namespace user can drive unbounded kernel memory and workqueue exhaustion affecting the whole system. On KMSAN-instrumented kernels the uninitialised read is a reported BUG, which panics with `panic_on_warn`."

There is no remote or adjacent-network path to this code.
AC:L - The error path is entered when the metadata DMA mapping fails, which an attacker can drive by flooding concurrent I/O to exhaust swiotlb bounce-buffer slots or IOVA space (guaranteed bounce-through in confidential-compute guests or DMA-mask-limited setups), and the stale `iod` state is deterministic once the path is taken. No timing race the attacker cannot control is involved.
PR:L - Only an unprivileged local user with access to an NVMe namespace is required — normal file I/O on a PI/metadata-formatted namespace sets `REQ_INTEGRITY` with no capability at all, and `nvme_cmd_allowed()` explicitly permits unprivileged passthrough of non-intrusive I/O commands without `CAP_SYS_ADMIN`.
UI:N - The attacker triggers the condition entirely through its own I/O submissions; no action by another user or administrator is needed.
S:U - The corruption is confined to kernel memory and DMA mappings managed by the same kernel security authority; no VM, IOMMU, or sandbox boundary is crossed.
C:H - `nvme_unmap_data()` reads a stale, already-freed `iod->sgt.sgl` scatterlist, and the resulting mempool double-free lets two concurrent requests share one SGL so one request's data can be steered into another's buffers; spurious `dma_unmap_page()` of a reassigned IOVA can likewise expose unrelated memory contents to the device.
I:H - The double `mempool_free()` of the scatterlist is a heap double-free primitive suitable for controlled heap corruption, and tearing down a DMA mapping that has been reallocated leaves the device DMA-writing into memory now owned by other subsystems — both give arbitrary-write-class integrity impact.
A:H - The path hits `WARN_ON_ONCE()` and then unmaps DMA using garbage addresses and frees an invalid pointer, producing IOMMU faults, slab/mempool corruption, and kernel oops or panic."

There is no IP-network-facing consumer of this code.
AC:L - The attacker deterministically arms the path by issuing two back-to-back `sendmsg()` calls so `bchannel_senddata()` sets `FLG_TX_NEXT`/`next_skb` (or `dchannel_senddata()` queues to `squeue`), guaranteeing `get_next_bframe()`/`get_next_dframe()` returns 1 and the post-free dereference executes. All call sites hold `hc->lock`, so there is no race to win and no memory-layout precondition.
PR:L - `data_sock_create()` performs no `capable()` check — only `base_sock_create()` (ISDN_P_BASE/SOCK_RAW) requires `CAP_NET_RAW` — and `data_sock_bind()`/`connect_Bstack()` add no further gate, so any unprivileged local user can bind a B- or D-channel and drive the transmit path.
UI:N - The attacker performs every step itself — socket, bind, PH_ACTIVATE_REQ, then the two queued sends — with no action required from an administrator or any other user.
S:U - The freed object is a kernel `sk_buff` and any corruption stays within the kernel's own security authority; there is no VM, IOMMU, or sandbox boundary crossed.
C:H - Per the published use-after-free, the stale `(*sp)->len` sizes a `write_fifo()` read from `(*sp)->data`, pushing freed-heap contents out onto the ISDN B-/D-channel to the far end of the line; heap grooming of the reclaimed skb makes this a controllable kernel-memory disclosure.
I:H - A use-after-free lets the attacker reclaim the freed `sk_buff` with attacker-shaped data, so the `len` and `data` fields consumed afterwards become attacker-controlled, yielding a write/pointer primitive usable for control-flow hijacking.
A:H - Dereferencing a freed skb and DMAing/PIO-ing from a dangling `data` pointer readily oopses or panics the kernel, and the sequence can be repeated at will from an unprivileged process."

Title
net: nexthop: Initialize all fields in dumped nexthops
Summary
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: nexthop: Initialize all fields in dumped nexthops
struct nexthop_grp contains two reserved fields that are not initialized by
nla_put_nh_group(), and carry garbage. This can be observed e.g. with
strace (edited for clarity):
# ip nexthop add id 1 dev lo
# ip nexthop add id 101 group 1
# strace -e recvmsg ip nexthop get id 101
...
recvmsg(... [{nla_len=12, nla_type=NHA_GROUP},
[{id=1, weight=0, resvd1=0x69, resvd2=0x67}]] ...) = 52
The fields are reserved and therefore not currently used. But as they are, they
leak kernel memory, and the fact they are not just zero complicates repurposing
of the fields for new ends. Initialize the full structure.

Title
tipc: Return non-zero value from tipc_udp_addr2str() on error
Summary
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
tipc: Return non-zero value from tipc_udp_addr2str() on error
tipc_udp_addr2str() should return non-zero value if the UDP media
address is invalid. Otherwise, a buffer overflow access can occur in
tipc_media_addr_printf(). Fix this by returning 1 on an invalid UDP
media address.

A remote host can therefore reach the vulnerable code with a single crafted UDP datagram.
AC:L - One crafted packet with proto set to any value other than ETH_P_IP/ETH_P_IPV6 and msg_prevnode=0 deterministically reaches disc_dupl_alert() and the uninitialized-buffer read; there is no race, no memory-layout dependency, and no condition outside the attacker's control.
PR:N - TIPC neighbor discovery is processed before any link is established and, with the default configuration (no CONFIG_TIPC_CRYPTO keys), involves no authentication whatsoever. The attacker needs no account or credentials on the target.
UI:N - The victim node processes incoming discovery messages automatically in softirq context; no administrator or user action is required beyond having the UDP bearer already enabled.
S:U - The out-of-bounds read and the leaked data both stay within the kernel's own security authority; no VM, IOMMU, or sandbox boundary is crossed.
C:H - The %s conversion reads an uninitialized 60-byte stack buffer past its end until a NUL byte, and the harvested kernel stack contents are printed into the kernel log via pr_warn — an unbounded stack out-of-bounds read that can disclose kernel pointers and defeat KASLR.
I:N - No out-of-bounds or attacker-controlled write occurs; every scnprintf() destination remains correctly length-bounded, so no kernel data is modified.
A:H - The unbounded stack read can fault into the VMAP_STACK guard page and immediately panics KASAN/panic_on_warn kernels as a stack-out-of-bounds report, and the trigger is a non-ratelimited pr_warn that a remote attacker can drive repeatedly."
