Summary
Cisco Small Business SPA300 Series and SPA500 Series IP Phones Web UI Vulnerabilities

Notes

Summary
Multiple vulnerabilities in the web-based management interface of Cisco Small Business SPA300 Series IP Phones and Cisco Small Business SPA500 Series IP Phones could allow an attacker to execute arbitrary commands on the underlying operating system or cause a denial of service (DoS) condition. For more information about these vulnerabilities, see the Details ["#details"] section of this advisory. Cisco has not released software updates that address these vulnerabilities. There are no workarounds that address these vulnerabilities.
Vulnerable Products
These vulnerabilities affect all software releases that run on Cisco Small Business SPA300 Series and Cisco Small Business SPA500 Series IP Phones, regardless of the configuration.
Products Confirmed Not Vulnerable
Only products listed in the Vulnerable Products ["#vp"] section of this advisory are known to be affected by these vulnerabilities.
Details
The vulnerabilities are not dependent on one another. Exploitation of one of the vulnerabilities is not required to exploit another vulnerability. Details about the vulnerabilities are as follows: CVE-2024-20450, CVE-2024-20452, and CVE-2024-20454: Cisco Small Business SPA300 Series and SPA500 Series IP Phones Web UI Arbitrary Command Execution Vulnerability Multiple vulnerabilities in the web-based management interface of Cisco Small Business SPA300 Series IP Phones and Cisco Small Business SPA500 Series IP Phones could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to execute arbitrary commands on the underlying operating system with root privileges. These vulnerabilities exist because incoming HTTP packets are not properly checked for errors, which could result in a buffer overflow. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a crafted HTTP request to an affected device. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to overflow an internal buffer and execute arbitrary commands at the root privilege level. Cisco has not released software updates that address these vulnerabilities. There are no workarounds that address these vulnerabilities. These vulnerabilities exist because HTTP packets are not properly checked for errors. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a crafted HTTP packet to the remote interface of an affected device. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to cause a DoS condition on the device. Cisco has not released software updates that address these vulnerabilities. Workarounds
There are no workarounds that address these vulnerabilities.
Fixed Software
Cisco has not released and will not release software updates to address the vulnerabilities that are described in this advisory. Cisco Small Business SPA300 Series IP Phones and Cisco Small Business SPA500 Series IP Phones have entered the end-of-life process. Customers are advised to refer to the end-of-life notices for these products: End-of-Sale and End-of-Life Announcement for the Cisco IP Phones SPA300 Series Selected Models ["https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/collaboration-endpoints/small-business-spa300-series-ip-phones/eos-eol-notice-c51-741208.html"] End-of-Sale and End-of-Life Announcement for the Cisco Small Business SPA303 Series IP Phone ["https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/collaboration-endpoints/small-business-spa300-series-ip-phones/eos-eol-notice-c51-743208.html"] End-of-Sale and End-of-Life Announcement for All Remaining Cisco Small Business SPA500 Series IP Phones ["https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/collaboration-endpoints/small-business-spa500-series-ip-phones/eos-eol-notice-c51-743207.html"] When considering a device migration, customers are advised to regularly consult the advisories for Cisco products, which are available from the Cisco Security Advisories page ["https://www.cisco.com/go/psirt"], to determine exposure and a complete upgrade solution. In all cases, customers should ensure that the new product type will be sufficient for their network needs and that current hardware and software configurations will continue to be supported properly by the new product. If the information is not clear, customers are advised to contact the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) or their contracted maintenance providers.
Vulnerability Policy
To learn about Cisco security vulnerability disclosure policies and publications, see the Security Vulnerability Policy ["http://www.cisco.com/web/about/security/psirt/security_vulnerability_policy.html"]. This document also contains instructions for obtaining fixed software and receiving security vulnerability information from Cisco.
Exploitation and Public Announcements
The Cisco Product Security Incident Response Team (PSIRT) is not aware of any public announcements or malicious use of the vulnerabilities that are described in this advisory.
