Details

Adobe Framemaker version 2020.0.1 (and earlier) is affected by an Out-of-bounds Read vulnerability when parsing a specially crafted file. An unauthenticated attacker could leverage this vulnerability to achieve arbitrary code execution in the context of the current user. Exploitation of this issue requires user interaction in that a victim must open a malicious file.

Vulnerability from github – Published: 2026-06-19 15:33 – Updated: 2026-06-30 03:37

Details

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

bpf: Free reuseport cBPF prog after RCU grace period.

Eulgyu Kim reported the splat below with a repro. [0]

The repro sets up a UDP reuseport group with a cBPF prog and replaces it with a new one while another thread is sending a UDP packet to the group.

The reuseport prog is freed by sk_reuseport_prog_free(). bpf_prog_put() is called for "e"BPF prog to destruct through multiple stages while cBPF prog is freed immediately by bpf_release_orig_filter() and bpf_prog_free().

If a reuseport prog is detached from the setsockopt() path (reuseport_attach_prog() or reuseport_detach_prog()), sk_reuseport_prog_free() is called without waiting for RCU readers to complete, resulting in various bugs.

Let's defer freeing the reuseport cBPF prog after one RCU grace period.

Note "e"BPF prog is safe as is unless the fast path starts to touch fields destroyed in bpf_prog_put_deferred() and __bpf_prog_put_noref().

Details

Adobe Illustrator versions 25.4.3 (and earlier) and 26.0.2 (and earlier) are affected by an out-of-bounds read vulnerability that could lead to disclosure of sensitive memory. An attacker could leverage this vulnerability to bypass mitigations such as ASLR. Exploitation of this issue requires user interaction in that a victim must open a malicious file.

GHSA-GJ7M-G33R-W8RG

Vulnerability from github – Published: 2026-01-14 15:33 – Updated: 2026-03-25 18:31
VLAI
Details

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

RDMA/irdma: avoid invalid read in irdma_net_event

irdma_net_event() should not dereference anything from "neigh" (alias "ptr") until it has checked that the event is NETEVENT_NEIGH_UPDATE. Other events come with different structures pointed to by "ptr" and they may be smaller than struct neighbour.

Move the read of neigh->dev under the NETEVENT_NEIGH_UPDATE case.

The bug is mostly harmless, but it triggers KASAN on debug kernels:

BUG: KASAN: stack-out-of-bounds in irdma_net_event+0x32e/0x3b0 [irdma] Read of size 8 at addr ffffc900075e07f0 by task kworker/27:2/542554

Vulnerability from github – Published: 2024-02-26 18:30 – Updated: 2024-04-17 18:31
VLAI
Details

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

netlabel: fix out-of-bounds memory accesses

There are two array out-of-bounds memory accesses, one in cipso_v4_map_lvl_valid(), the other in netlbl_bitmap_walk(). Both errors are embarassingly simple, and the fixes are straightforward.

As a FYI for anyone backporting this patch to kernels prior to v4.8, you'll want to apply the netlbl_bitmap_walk() patch to cipso_v4_bitmap_walk() as netlbl_bitmap_walk() doesn't exist before Linux v4.8.

IrfanView CADImage Plugin DXF File Parsing Out-Of-Bounds Read Remote Code Execution Vulnerability. This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations of IrfanView CADImage Plugin. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability in that the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file.

The specific flaw exists within the parsing of DXF files. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of user-supplied data, which can result in a read past the end of an allocated buffer. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code in the context of the current process. Was ZDI-CAN-26096.

Mitigation MIT-5
Implementation

Strategy: Input Validation

  • Assume all input is malicious. Use an "accept known good" input validation strategy, i.e., use a list of acceptable inputs that strictly conform to specifications. Reject any input that does not strictly conform to specifications, or transform it into something that does.
  • When performing input validation, consider all potentially relevant properties, including length, type of input, the full range of acceptable values, missing or extra inputs, syntax, consistency across related fields, and conformance to business rules. As an example of business rule logic, "boat" may be syntactically valid because it only contains alphanumeric characters, but it is not valid if the input is only expected to contain colors such as "red" or "blue."
  • Do not rely exclusively on looking for malicious or malformed inputs. This is likely to miss at least one undesirable input, especially if the code's environment changes. This can give attackers enough room to bypass the intended validation. However, denylists can be useful for detecting potential attacks or determining which inputs are so malformed that they should be rejected outright.
  • To reduce the likelihood of introducing an out-of-bounds read, ensure that you validate and ensure correct calculations for any length argument, buffer size calculation, or offset. Be especially careful of relying on a sentinel (i.e. special character such as NUL) in untrusted inputs.
Mitigation
Architecture and Design

Strategy: Language Selection

Use a language that provides appropriate memory abstractions.

CAPEC-540: Overread Buffers

An adversary attacks a target by providing input that causes an application to read beyond the boundary of a defined buffer. This typically occurs when a value influencing where to start or stop reading is set to reflect positions outside of the valid memory location of the buffer. This type of attack may result in exposure of sensitive information, a system crash, or arbitrary code execution.
