Title
Cisco Packaged Contact Center Enterprise & Cisco Unified Contact Center Enterprise Server-Side Request Forgery Vulnerability
Summary
A vulnerability in Cisco Packaged Contact Center Enterprise (Packaged CCE) and Cisco Unified Contact Center Enterprise (Unified CCE) could allow an authenticated, remote attacker to conduct server-side request forgery (SSRF) attacks through an affected device. This vulnerability is due to improper input validation for specific HTTP requests. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a crafted HTTP request to an affected device. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to send arbitrary network requests that are sourced from the affected device. To exploit this vulnerability, the attacker must have valid user credentials on the affected device.

Title
Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) through Dashboard Studio PDF Export in Splunk Enterprise
Summary
In Splunk Enterprise versions below 10.2.4, 10.0.7, 9.4.12, and 9.3.13, and Splunk Cloud Platform versions below 10.4.2604.3, 10.3.2512.12, 10.2.2510.14, 10.1.2507.22, and 9.3.2411.132, a low-privileged user that does not hold the "admin" or "power" Splunk roles could send server-side requests to arbitrary internal destinations through the Dashboard Studio PDF export feature. The vulnerability exists because the trusted-domain validation uses a prefix match that can be bypassed with attacker-controlled subdomains (for example, docs.splunk.com.evil.com), and because the PDF export service follows HTTP redirects automatically without re-validating each redirect target against the allowlist.

Title
Cisco Unified Communications Manager Server-Side Request Forgery Vulnerability
Summary
A vulnerability in Cisco Unified Communications Manager (Unified CM) and Cisco Unified Communications Manager Session Management Edition (Unified CM SME) could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to conduct server-side request forgery (SSRF) attacks through an affected device. This vulnerability is due to improper input validation for specific HTTP requests. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a crafted HTTP request to an affected device. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to write files to the underlying operating system that could be used later to elevate to root. Note: Cisco has assigned this security advisory a Security Impact Rating (SIR) of Critical rather than High as the score indicates. The reason is that exploitation of this vulnerability could result in an attacker elevating privileges to root. Note: To exploit this vulnerability, the WebDialer service must be enabled. WebDialer is disabled by default.

Title
cti-transmute Unauthenticated SSRF via Hostnames Resolving to Internal IP Addresses
Summary
Affected versions of cti-transmute contain an SSRF vulnerability in the /fetch_misp_event and /misp_search_events endpoints. The URL validation routine checked whether a supplied hostname was itself an IP literal and rejected private, loopback, link-local, or reserved IPs. However, ordinary domain names were accepted without resolving them first. An attacker could therefore use a hostname whose DNS record pointed to an internal address and cause the cti-transmute server to issue requests into its internal network. The commit explicitly states that anonymous callers could make the server request the internal target and read the response. The fix resolves hostnames using socket.getaddrinfo(), checks that every resolved address is globally routable, and additionally places @login_required on both affected MISP fetch/search routes.

Title
Stored Server-Side Request Forgery in Remote-Instance Synchronization Allows Access to Internal Services in vulnerability-lookup
Summary
Vulnerability-Lookup contains a server-side request forgery (SSRF) vulnerability in the remote-instance synchronization functionality. Remote instance addresses were validated only for basic URL syntax before being stored, while the synchronization worker later dereferenced these addresses using requests.get() with automatic redirect handling and without enforcing network-boundary restrictions. An authenticated administrator with the admin:access permission could configure a remote instance whose address points to an internal, loopback, link-local, or cloud metadata HTTP(S) service. When synchronization is performed, the Vulnerability-Lookup server would issue the request from its own network context. An attacker could also use a publicly accessible URL that redirects to an internal destination, because redirects were previously followed without revalidating the destination. Successful exploitation could allow a privileged attacker to probe or interact with services that are accessible from the Vulnerability-Lookup server but not directly reachable by the attacker, including private network services or cloud instance metadata endpoints. The exact confidentiality, integrity, or availability impact depends on the services reachable from the application server. The patch introduces a shared outbound URL policy that restricts remote instances to HTTP(S), rejects non-public IP addresses, resolves hostnames at request time, and manually validates each redirect destination before following it. The implementation explicitly blocks private, loopback, link-local, multicast, reserved, and unspecified addresses.

Title
RansomLook Analysis PDF Generation Allows Server-Side Request Forgery and Arbitrary Local File Access
Summary
RansomLook contains insufficient resource validation in the analysis PDF generation functionality. Analysis documents are converted from Markdown to HTML and passed to WeasyPrint for PDF rendering. Prior to the fix, WeasyPrint used its default URL fetcher, allowing resource references contained in an analysis to be resolved without restrictions. An authenticated attacker able to create or modify an analysis could embed crafted resource references using schemes such as file:// or http://. When the analysis was subsequently rendered as PDF, WeasyPrint would process these references with the privileges and network access of the RansomLook server. A malicious file:// reference could cause the renderer to access arbitrary files readable by the RansomLook process, potentially exposing sensitive configuration, credentials, or other local data through rendered resources. Network URLs could cause the server to initiate requests to localhost, internal network services, or external systems, resulting in server-side request forgery (SSRF) and potentially bypassing network-level access restrictions. The patch introduces a dedicated WeasyPrint URL fetcher that permits only data: resources, the RansomLook report logo, and files contained within the analysis asset directory. Network resources and filesystem paths outside these explicitly permitted locations are rejected.

Title
Pivotick Unvalidated Node Image URLs Allow Unintended Client-Side Requests
Summary
Pivotick did not validate the URL scheme of node imagePath values derived from graph data before assigning them to SVG image resources. An attacker able to supply crafted graph data could set an image path to a malicious URI. When a victim rendered the affected graph, the browser could resolve the attacker-controlled URI and initiate an unintended request or invoke scheme-specific handling in the victim’s context. Depending on the URI, browser behaviour, and installed protocol handlers, exploitation could disclose limited client or network metadata, facilitate rendering-based tracking, or attempt to access local or internal resources. Exploitation requires a victim to load or render graph data containing the malicious imagePath. The patch normalizes ASCII whitespace and control characters in URI schemes and restricts image paths to relative URLs or the http, https, data, and blob schemes.

The patch normalizes ASCII whitespace and control characters in URI schemes and restricts image paths to relative URLs or the http, https, data, and blob schemes."

Title
MISP Insufficient Outbound URL Validation Allows SSRF and Credential Disclosure via Feed Redirects and TAXII Discovery
Summary
Affected versions of MISP contain insufficient validation of server-side outbound HTTP destinations in feed retrieval and TAXII discovery functionality. In feed processing, redirects were followed without validating the redirect scheme or destination. The original request headers were reused across redirect hops, meaning authentication headers or API credentials configured for a feed could be forwarded to a different host. Redirects could also target internal network resources, resulting in SSRF. The fix adds redirect validation, blocks internal destinations for cross-host redirects, strips configured feed credentials before following redirects to another host, and pins validated DNS results to prevent re-resolution after validation. The TAXII discovery endpoint had a related incomplete SSRF defense. It used gethostbyname() and compared the result against only a few literal addresses. This missed cases including IPv6 loopback (::1), numeric host encodings such as 0x7f000001, and potentially multiple DNS records. The fix moves TAXII discovery to the shared URL egress validator. Together, these commits harden MISP's outbound URL handling against alternate-address representations, DNS-related bypasses, unsafe redirects, internal-host access, and cross-host credential forwarding. Title
Server-Side Request Forgery via Favicon Retrieval in Lookyloo PlaywrightCapture
Summary
A Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) vulnerability existed in Lookyloo's PlaywrightCapture when the only_global_lookup option was enabled. PlaywrightCapture implements this option to prevent captures from accessing local, loopback, or otherwise non-public network resources. However, favicon retrieval was performed separately from the browser request-routing protections. Favicon URLs extracted from rendered HTML were resolved and subsequently fetched directly using an aiohttp.ClientSession. An attacker able to supply or control a web page processed by PlaywrightCapture could include a crafted favicon reference, for example pointing to a loopback address, private IP address, or another resource reachable only from the PlaywrightCapture host. When the page was processed, the favicon retrieval routine could issue an HTTP request to this destination despite only_global_lookup being enabled. This bypass could therefore be used to make the PlaywrightCapture host interact with internal network services that should not be reachable through a capture. Depending on the targeted service and its response, this could enable internal service discovery, access to internal resources, or interaction with HTTP endpoints available only from the capture infrastructure. The patch introduces a common URL validation routine and applies it to favicon retrieval. Direct non-global IP addresses, localhost, .local domains, malformed URLs, and other explicitly non-public destinations are rejected before the favicon request is performed. This fix is a complementary fix to CVE-2026-44439 - GCVE-0-2026-44439 - GHSA-687H-XW6F-Q2QW

Depending on the targeted service and its response, this could enable internal service discovery, access to internal resources, or interaction with HTTP endpoints available only from the capture infrastructure.\n\nThe patch introduces a common URL validation routine and applies it to favicon retrieval. Direct non-global IP addresses, localhost, .local domains, malformed URLs, and other explicitly non-public destinations are rejected before the favicon request is performed.\n\nThis fix is a complementary fix to CVE-2026-44439 - GCVE-0-2026-44439 - GHSA-687H-XW6F-Q2QW"

CAPEC-664: Server Side Request Forgery

An adversary exploits improper input validation by submitting maliciously crafted input to a target application running on a server, with the goal of forcing the server to make a request either to itself, to web services running in the server’s internal network, or to external third parties. If successful, the adversary’s request will be made with the server’s privilege level, bypassing its authentication controls. This ultimately allows the adversary to access sensitive data, execute commands on the server’s network, and make external requests with the stolen identity of the server. Server Side Request Forgery attacks differ from Cross Site Request Forgery attacks in that they target the server itself, whereas CSRF attacks exploit an insecure user authentication mechanism to perform unauthorized actions on the user's behalf.
