Cisco Nexus Dashboard Server Side Request Forgery Vulnerability
Summary
A vulnerability in Cisco Nexus Dashboard and Cisco Nexus Dashboard Insights could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to conduct a server-side request forgery (SSRF) attack through an affected device. This vulnerability is due to improper input validation for specific HTTP requests. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by persuading an authenticated user of the device management interface to click a crafted link. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to send arbitrary network requests that are sourced from the affected device to an attacker-controlled server. The attacker could then execute arbitrary script code in the context of the affected interface or access sensitive browser-based information.

Webhook SSRF guard bypassed by IPv6 transition addresses (NAT64/6to4/Teredo pass is_global check) in vulnerability-lookup
Summary
The webhook URL validator in `website/notifications/webhooks.py` uses `ip.is_global` to reject non-public addresses after DNS resolution. IPv6 transition addresses (NAT64 `64:ff9b::/96`, 6to4 `2002::/16`, Teredo `2001:0000::/32`) are classified as globally routable by IANA, so `is_global` returns `True` even when the embedded IPv4 targets a private, loopback, or cloud metadata destination. An attacker can register a webhook pointing at a hostname that resolves to a transition address to bypass the SSRF guard and exfiltrate vulnerability data to an internal endpoint. The vulnerability was introduced on a non-release version. The fix was already done on HEAD. It only affects organisation running the HEAD.

Title
Server-Side Request Forgery and Local File Disclosure in CTI-Transmute Evaluation PDF Rendering
Summary
CTI-Transmute is affected by a server-side request forgery vulnerability in the evaluation report PDF-generation functionality. User-controlled CTI content, including conversion names, descriptions, and comments, is converted from Markdown to HTML and rendered as a PDF using WeasyPrint. Before the patch, the renderer used WeasyPrint’s default URL-fetching behavior without restricting the protocols or destinations that could be referenced by the generated HTML. An attacker able to supply content included in an evaluation report could inject crafted resource references using schemes such as http://, https://, or file://. When the report was rendered, CTI-Transmute could fetch these resources using the application server’s network connectivity and filesystem privileges. Successful exploitation could allow an attacker to: * access services available only from the CTI-Transmute server or its internal network; * probe internal hosts and service endpoints; * retrieve local files readable by the application process; and * expose fetched content through the generated PDF, depending on the referenced resource type and rendering context. The vulnerability is corrected by providing WeasyPrint with a restrictive URL fetcher that permits only self-contained data: URIs. The externally hosted Google Fonts stylesheet was also removed so that PDF generation performs no intentional network or filesystem fetches.

Cisco Unity Connection Server-Side Request Forgery Vulnerability
Summary
A vulnerability in the web UI of Cisco Unity Connection Web Inbox could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to conduct SSRF attacks through an affected device. This vulnerability is due to improper input validation for specific HTTP requests. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a crafted HTTP request to an affected device. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to send arbitrary network requests that are sourced from the affected device.

Title
Server-Side Request Forgery via Favicon Redirect to Local Network Resources in PlaywrightCapture
Summary
PlaywrightCapture contains a server-side request forgery (SSRF) vulnerability in its favicon retrieval functionality. When only_global_lookup is enabled, the application validates the initial favicon URL to prevent requests to localhost, loopback, or other non-public network addresses. However, redirects followed by aiohttp were not subjected to the same validation. An attacker able to influence the content of a page processed by PlaywrightCapture could specify a publicly reachable favicon URL that responds with an HTTP redirect to a local or otherwise restricted address, such as 127.0.0.1, localhost, or an internal network service. Because aiohttp automatically followed the redirect, the resulting request could bypass the application's local-address restrictions and cause the PlaywrightCapture host to issue HTTP requests to resources that should not be externally reachable. Depending on the services reachable from the PlaywrightCapture host and how retrieved favicon data is subsequently exposed or processed, this could be used to probe internal HTTP services or potentially obtain information from otherwise inaccessible endpoints. The patch introduces an aiohttp request middleware that applies the existing local-URL validation to every request in the redirect chain. Requests resolving to restricted/local destinations are rejected before they are issued.

Authenticated Server-Side Request Forgery in AIL Framework Crawler Allows Access to Internal Network Resources
Summary
AIL Framework contains a server-side request forgery (SSRF) vulnerability in its crawler submission functionality. A low-privileged authenticated user with access to the crawler interface can submit an arbitrary URL for crawling without adequate validation of the destination host. The crawler can therefore be instructed to make direct HTTP(S) requests to addresses that should not be reachable by application users, including loopback addresses, RFC1918 private networks, link-local addresses, and cloud metadata services such as 169.254.169.254. Manual crawler tasks bypass the existing domain blacklist because they are assigned a non-zero priority, and ordinary IP literals are classified as web targets and fetched directly rather than through Tor or another proxy. Consequently, an attacker can use the AIL server as a network pivot to access services available from the server's network context. Responses generated by these requests, including captured HTML, screenshots, and HAR data, can subsequently be accessed through the crawler interface. This makes the SSRF non-blind and may allow an attacker to disclose sensitive internal application data, service information, or cloud instance metadata and credentials. The patch introduces validation that resolves crawler destinations and rejects URLs resolving to non-global IP addresses, addressing localhost, private-network, and link-local targets.

Server-Side Request Forgery protection bypass in misp-modules html_to_markdown via IPv4-mapped IPv6 addresses
Summary
A Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) protection bypass existed in the html_to_markdown expansion module of misp-modules. The module attempts to prevent requests to loopback, private, link-local, and other restricted IP address ranges. However, IP addresses were compared against the blocked ranges without first normalising IPv4-mapped IPv6 addresses. An authenticated attacker able to invoke the module could supply an IPv4-mapped IPv6 address, such as: http://[::ffff:127.0.0.1]/ http://[::ffff:169.254.169.254]/ Alternatively, the attacker could use a hostname that resolves to an IPv4-mapped IPv6 address. These addresses were treated as IPv6 addresses and therefore did not match the corresponding blocked IPv4 ranges. Successful exploitation could cause the misp-modules server to connect to services available through its loopback interface, internal network, or link-local network. This could expose internal web services, administrative interfaces, or cloud instance metadata, with retrieved content potentially returned to the attacker as converted Markdown. The vulnerability has been addressed by normalising IPv4-mapped IPv6 addresses to their underlying IPv4 representation before applying the blocked-range checks. URLs without a valid hostname are now also rejected.

Title
FlowIntel external reference URL probe allows server-side request forgery
Summary
FlowIntel up to version 3.3.0 contains a server-side request forgery (SSRF) vulnerability in the external reference URL probe functionality in app/case/task.py. An attacker who can submit an external reference URL can cause the application server to issue an HTTP HEAD request to an attacker-specified destination. Due to insufficient validation of the URL scheme and resolved destination address, affected versions may allow requests to loopback, link-local, private, reserved, or other restricted network resources, potentially enabling interaction with internal services or cloud metadata endpoints from the server's network context.

CAPEC-664: Server Side Request Forgery

An adversary exploits improper input validation by submitting maliciously crafted input to a target application running on a server, with the goal of forcing the server to make a request either to itself, to web services running in the server’s internal network, or to external third parties. If successful, the adversary’s request will be made with the server’s privilege level, bypassing its authentication controls. This ultimately allows the adversary to access sensitive data, execute commands on the server’s network, and make external requests with the stolen identity of the server. Server Side Request Forgery attacks differ from Cross Site Request Forgery attacks in that they target the server itself, whereas CSRF attacks exploit an insecure user authentication mechanism to perform unauthorized actions on the user's behalf.
