Title
miniupnpd Integer Underflow SOAPAction Header Parsing
Summary
miniupnpd contains an integer underflow vulnerability in SOAPAction header parsing that allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service or information disclosure by sending a malformed SOAPAction header with a single quote. Attackers can trigger an out-of-bounds memory read by exploiting improper length validation in ParseHttpHeaders(), where the parsed length underflows to a large unsigned value when passed to memchr(), causing the process to scan memory far beyond the allocated HTTP request buffer.

Invalid handling of CLASS != IN
Summary
Multiple flaws have been identified in `named` related to the handling of DNS messages whose CLASS is not Internet (`IN`) — for example, `CHAOS` or `HESIOD`, or DNS messages that specify meta-classes (`ANY` or `NONE`) in the question section. Specially crafted requests reaching the affected code paths — recursion, dynamic updates (`UPDATE`), zone change notifications (`NOTIFY`), or processing of `IN`-specific record types in non-`IN` data — can cause assertion failures in `named`. Global buffer over-read in mb_convert_encoding() with attacker-supplied encoding
Summary
In PHP versions 8.4.* before 8.4.21 and 8.5.* before 8.5.6, when an encoding name containing an embedded NUL byte is passed to mb_convert_encoding() or related mbstring functions, the code incorrectly assumes that when strncasecmp() returns 0 it means the strings have the same length. This can lead to out-of-bounds read of global memory, potentially causing a crash or information disclosure or crash. Affected functions include mb_convert_encoding(), mb_detect_encoding(), mb_convert_variables(), and mb_detect_order(), as well as the mbstring.detect_order and mbstring.http_output INI settings.

In PHP versions 8.2.* before 8.2.31, 8.3.* before 8.3.31, 8.4.* before 8.4.21, and 8.5.* before 8.5.6, some functions, including urldecode(), pass signed char to ctype functions (like isxdigit()). On the systems with default signed char and optimized table-lookup ctype functions - such as NetBSD - this can lead to accessing array with negative offset, which can trigger a denial of service.

Ollama heap out-of-bounds read in GGUF tensor parsing leaks server process memory to unauthenticated remote attackers
Summary
Ollama before 0.17.1 contains a heap out-of-bounds read vulnerability in the GGUF model loader. The /api/create endpoint accepts an attacker-supplied GGUF file in which the declared tensor offset and size exceed the file's actual length; during quantization in fs/ggml/gguf.go and server/quantization.go (WriteTo()), the server reads past the allocated heap buffer. The leaked memory contents may include environment variables, API keys, system prompts, and concurrent users' conversation data, and can be exfiltrated by uploading the resulting model artifact through the /api/push endpoint to an attacker-controlled registry. The /api/create and /api/push endpoints have no authentication in the upstream distribution. Default deployments bind to 127.0.0.1, but the documented OLLAMA_HOST=0.0.0.0 configuration is widely used in practice (large public-internet exposure observed).

Signed integer overflow in metaphone()
Summary
In PHP versions 8.2.* before 8.2.31, 8.3.* before 8.3.31, 8.4.* before 8.4.21, and 8.5.* before 8.5.6, the metaphone() function in ext/standard/metaphone.c uses a signed int variable to track the current position within the input string. If a string longer than 2,147,483,647 bytes is passed, a signed integer overflow occurs, resulting in undefined behavior. Strategy: Input Validation

Description:

  • Assume all input is malicious. Use an "accept known good" input validation strategy, i.e., use a list of acceptable inputs that strictly conform to specifications. Reject any input that does not strictly conform to specifications, or transform it into something that does.
  • When performing input validation, consider all potentially relevant properties, including length, type of input, the full range of acceptable values, missing or extra inputs, syntax, consistency across related fields, and conformance to business rules. As an example of business rule logic, "boat" may be syntactically valid because it only contains alphanumeric characters, but it is not valid if the input is only expected to contain colors such as "red" or "blue."
  • Do not rely exclusively on looking for malicious or malformed inputs. This is likely to miss at least one undesirable input, especially if the code's environment changes. This can give attackers enough room to bypass the intended validation. However, denylists can be useful for detecting potential attacks or determining which inputs are so malformed that they should be rejected outright.
  • To reduce the likelihood of introducing an out-of-bounds read, ensure that you validate and ensure correct calculations for any length argument, buffer size calculation, or offset. Be especially careful of relying on a sentinel (i.e. special character such as NUL) in untrusted inputs.

An adversary attacks a target by providing input that causes an application to read beyond the boundary of a defined buffer. This typically occurs when a value influencing where to start or stop reading is set to reflect positions outside of the valid memory location of the buffer. This type of attack may result in exposure of sensitive information, a system crash, or arbitrary code execution.
