Title
smc: Fix use-after-free in tcp_write_timer_handler().
Summary
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
smc: Fix use-after-free in tcp_write_timer_handler().
With Eric's ref tracker, syzbot finally found a repro for
use-after-free in tcp_write_timer_handler() by kernel TCP
sockets. [0]
If SMC creates a kernel socket in __smc_create(), the kernel
socket is supposed to be freed in smc_clcsock_release() by
calling sock_release() when we close() the parent SMC socket.
However, at the end of smc_clcsock_release(), the kernel
socket's sk_state might not be TCP_CLOSE. This means that
we have not called inet_csk_destroy_sock() in __tcp_close()
and have not stopped the TCP timers.
The kernel socket's TCP timers can be fired later, so we
need to hold a refcnt for net as we do for MPTCP subflows
in mptcp_subflow_create_socket().

No received network packet triggers the vulnerable code path, so this is a local attack surface.\nAC:L - The attacker controls both sides: they arm the clcsock\u0027s TCP timers (e.g. connecting to an unresponsive peer so it stays non-TCP_CLOSE) and control when the net namespace is destroyed, and can spray many socket/namespace pairs to reliably land the timer firing on freed memory.\nPR:L - Triggering requires a destroyable network namespace (the init netns is never freed), which an unprivileged local user obtains via user namespaces (unshare -Urn); AF_SMC socket creation itself is not capability-gated.\nUI:N - The attacker performs all setup (socket creation, connect, close, namespace teardown) themselves; no victim action is required.\nS:U - The use-after-free corrupts a freed struct net within the kernel\u0027s own security authority; it does not cross a VM, IOMMU, or sandbox boundary.\nC:H - This is a slab use-after-free of struct net whose freed memory can be reclaimed with attacker-influenced data before the timer reads sysctl fields from it, enabling information disclosure per UAF guidance.\nI:H - The timer handlers write into the freed net object (MIB counter increments via __NET_INC_STATS), and reclaiming the freed slab enables heap-spray/write primitives, so integrity impact is High per UAF guidance.\nA:H - A use-after-free of the network namespace reliably causes kernel oops/panic (as reported by KASAN/syzbot), giving High availability impact."

Title
Use After Free with SSL_free_buffers
Summary
Issue summary: Calling the OpenSSL API function SSL_free_buffers may cause
memory to be accessed that was previously freed in some situations
Impact summary: A use after free can have a range of potential consequences such
as the corruption of valid data, crashes or execution of arbitrary code.
However, only applications that directly call the SSL_free_buffers function are
affected by this issue. Applications that do not call this function are not
vulnerable. Our investigations indicate that this function is rarely used by
applications.
The SSL_free_buffers function is used to free the internal OpenSSL buffer used
when processing an incoming record from the network. The call is only expected
to succeed if the buffer is not currently in use. However, two scenarios have
been identified where the buffer is freed even when still in use.
The first scenario occurs where a record header has been received from the
network and processed by OpenSSL, but the full record body has not yet arrived.
In this case calling SSL_free_buffers will succeed even though a record has only
been partially processed and the buffer is still in use.
The second scenario occurs where a full record containing application data has
been received and processed by OpenSSL but the application has only read part of
this data. Again a call to SSL_free_buffers will succeed even though the buffer
is still in use.
While these scenarios could occur accidentally during normal operation a
malicious attacker could attempt to engineer a stituation where this occurs.
We are not aware of this issue being actively exploited.
The FIPS modules in 3.3, 3.2, 3.1 and 3.0 are not affected by this issue.

Title
geneve: Fix use-after-free in geneve_find_dev().
Summary
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
geneve: Fix use-after-free in geneve_find_dev().
syzkaller reported a use-after-free in geneve_find_dev() [0]
without repro.
geneve_configure() links struct geneve_dev.next to
net_generic(net, geneve_net_id)->geneve_list.
The net here could differ from dev_net(dev) if IFLA_NET_NS_PID,
IFLA_NET_NS_FD, or IFLA_TARGET_NETNSID is set.
When dev_net(dev) is dismantled, geneve_exit_batch_rtnl() finally
calls unregister_netdevice_queue() for each dev in the netns,
and later the dev is freed.
However, its geneve_dev.next is still linked to the backend UDP
socket netns.
Then, use-after-free will occur when another geneve dev is created
in the netns.
Let's call geneve_dellink() instead in geneve_destroy_tunnels().

"value": "AV:L - The vulnerability is reached only through RTM_NEWLINK rtnetlink messages sent on an AF_NETLINK socket, requiring local system access. The geneve_list is used solely by the control plane (geneve_configure/geneve_dellink), never by the packet receive path, so no remote packet can trigger it.\nAC:L - The attacker deterministically creates both network namespaces, creates the geneve device cross-netns, destroys the device-owning netns, then creates a second geneve device to dereference the stale list entry \u2014 no race must be won and the dangling pointer persists indefinitely, allowing unhurried heap grooming of the freed 4096-byte slab object.\nPR:L - CAP_NET_ADMIN is required in the owning user namespaces of both netns, but an unprivileged user obtains exactly that with `unshare -Urn` plus a nested `unshare -n`, since both namespaces are owned by their own user_ns and the checks are ns_capable-based. The geneve module is autoloaded on demand from the same unprivileged rtnl_newlink path.\nUI:N - The full sequence is performed by the attacker\u0027s own processes via netlink and namespace file descriptors, with no action by any other user.\nS:U - The use-after-free corrupts kernel heap state and is exploited for kernel privilege escalation within the same security authority; no hypervisor, IOMMU, or other authority boundary is crossed.\nC:H - The stale list entry points into a freed kmalloc-cg-4k object the attacker can reallocate and fill, so the list traversal in geneve_find_dev() follows an attacker-controlled `next` pointer and reads arbitrary kernel addresses, with the -EBUSY/-EPERM/success result acting as a disclosure oracle.\nI:H - Later list_del()/list_add() operations on the corrupted geneve_list write through attacker-controlled prev/next pointers, yielding a classic unlink write-what-where primitive suitable for control-flow hijacking and privilege escalation.\nA:H - The bug is a confirmed slab use-after-free (KASAN slab-use-after-free reported by syzkaller) that reliably corrupts a kernel linked list, causing oops or panic even without successful exploitation."

Bluetooth: MGMT: Fix possible UAFs
Summary
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
Bluetooth: MGMT: Fix possible UAFs
This attemps to fix possible UAFs caused by struct mgmt_pending being
freed while still being processed like in the following trace, in order
to fix mgmt_pending_valid is introduce and use to check if the
mgmt_pending hasn't been removed from the pending list, on the complete
callbacks it is used to check and in addtion remove the cmd from the list
while holding mgmt_pending_lock to avoid TOCTOU problems since if the cmd
is left on the list it can still be accessed and freed.

Title
Vim has path traversal issue with zip.vim and special crafted zip archives
Summary
Vim is an open source, command line text editor. Prior to version 9.1.1551, a path traversal issue in Vim’s zip.vim plugin can allow overwriting of arbitrary files when opening specially crafted zip archives. Impact is low because this exploit requires direct user interaction. However, successfully exploitation can lead to overwriting sensitive files or placing executable code in privileged locations, depending on the permissions of the process editing the archive. The victim must edit such a file using Vim which will reveal the filename and the file content, a careful user may suspect some strange things going on. Successful exploitation could results in the ability to execute arbitrary commands on the underlying operating system. Version 9.1.1551 contains a patch for the vulnerability.

Title
Apache Log4j Core: Missing TLS hostname verification in Socket appender
Summary
The Socket Appender in Apache Log4j Core versions 2.0-beta9 through 2.25.2 does not perform TLS hostname verification of the peer certificate, even when the verifyHostName https://logging.apache.org/log4j/2.x/manual/appenders/network.html#SslConfiguration-attr-verifyHostName configuration attribute or the log4j2.sslVerifyHostName https://logging.apache.org/log4j/2.x/manual/systemproperties.html#log4j2.sslVerifyHostName system property is set to true.
This issue may allow a man-in-the-middle attacker to intercept or redirect log traffic under the following conditions:
* The attacker is able to intercept or redirect network traffic between the client and the log receiver.
* The attacker can present a server certificate issued by a certification authority trusted by the Socket Appender’s configured trust store (or by the default Java trust store if no custom trust store is configured).
Users are advised to upgrade to Apache Log4j Core version 2.25.3, which addresses this issue.
As an alternative mitigation, the Socket Appender may be configured to use a private or restricted trust root to limit the set of trusted certificates.
