Summary
Cisco Unified Communications Products Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerabilities

Notes

Summary
Multiple vulnerabilities in the web-based management interface of Cisco Unified Communications Manager (Unified CM), Cisco Unified Communications Manager IM & Presence Service (Unified CM IM&P), Cisco Unified Communications Manager Session Management Edition (Unified CM SME), and Cisco Unity Connection could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to conduct a cross-site scripting (XSS) attack against an interface user. These vulnerabilities exist because the web-based management interface does not properly validate user-supplied input. An attacker could exploit these vulnerabilities by persuading an interface user to click a crafted link. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to execute arbitrary script code in the context of the affected interface or access sensitive browser-based information. Cisco has released software updates that address these vulnerabilities. There are no workarounds that address these vulnerabilities. This advisory is available at the following link: https://sec.cloudapps.cisco.com/security/center/content/CiscoSecurityAdvisory/cisco-sa-cucm-xss-Q4PZcNzJ ["https://sec.cloudapps.cisco.com/security/center/content/CiscoSecurityAdvisory/cisco-sa-cucm-xss-Q4PZcNzJ"]

Workarounds
There are no workarounds that address these vulnerabilities.
Fixed Software
When considering software upgrades ["https://sec.cloudapps.cisco.com/security/center/resources/security_vulnerability_policy.html#fixes"], customers are advised to regularly consult the advisories for Cisco products, which are available from the Cisco Security Advisories page ["https://www.cisco.com/go/psirt"], to determine exposure and a complete upgrade solution. In all cases, customers should ensure that the devices to be upgraded contain sufficient memory and confirm that current hardware and software configurations will continue to be supported properly by the new release. If the information is not clear, customers are advised to contact the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) or their contracted maintenance providers. Fixed Releases At the time of publication, releases 14 and later of the following Cisco products contained the fix for the following vulnerabilities. See the Details section in the bug ID(s) at the top of this advisory for the most complete and current information. Cisco Product Fixed Releases CVE IDs Unified CM 14 and later CVE-2021-1380, CVE-2021-1407, CVE-2021-1408, CVE-2021-1409 Unified CM IM&P 14 and later CVE-2021-1380, CVE-2021-1409 Unified CM SME 14 and later CVE-2021-1380, CVE-2021-1407, CVE-2021-1408, CVE-2021-1409 Unity Connection 14 and later CVE-2021-1380, CVE-2021-1409
