Title
accel/qaic: Fix integer overflow in qaic_validate_req()
Summary
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: accel/qaic: Fix integer overflow in qaic_validate_req() These are u64 variables that come from the user via qaic_attach_slice_bo_ioctl(). Use check_add_overflow() to ensure that the math doesn't have an integer wrapping bug.

There is no network-facing path to this code.\nAC:L - The attacker directly supplies the wrapping offset/size pair in the ioctl payload and the overflow is deterministic arithmetic with no race, timing, or memory-layout precondition. A single ioctl pair (attach slice, then execute BO) reliably programs the oversized DMA descriptor.\nPR:L - No capability check exists anywhere in drivers/accel/qaic/, and the ioctl is registered with flags 0 so drm_ioctl_permit() applies no root or auth gate; only an open fd on the accel node is needed. On the multi-tenant inference hosts this accelerator targets, that node is granted to ordinary unprivileged workload users.\nUI:N - The attacker performs the entire sequence itself with two ioctls on a device it opened. No victim action or cooperation is involved.\nS:U - The corruption occurs in host kernel memory under the same kernel security authority; this is a standard local kernel privilege-escalation primitive rather than a VM or IOMMU-boundary escape.\nC:H - A DMA_TO_DEVICE slice with the wrapped length makes the device read up to ~4 GiB of host memory past the buffer and copy it into accelerator memory, which the same unprivileged user can read back, yielding large-scale disclosure of kernel and other tenants\u0027 data.\nI:H - A DMA_FROM_DEVICE slice makes the device write ~4 GiB of attacker-controlled data beyond the 8 KiB buffer, giving a wide out-of-bounds write over kernel memory that is readily leveraged into control-flow hijack and privilege escalation.\nA:H - The multi-gigabyte overrun corrupts arbitrary kernel structures and page tables, reliably producing an oops or panic; with an IOMMU present it instead raises DMA faults that wedge or force a reset of the accelerator."

There is no network-facing path to this code.\\nAC:L - The attacker directly supplies the wrapping offset/size pair in the ioctl payload and the overflow is deterministic arithmetic with no race, timing, or memory-layout precondition. A single ioctl pair (attach slice, then execute BO) reliably programs the oversized DMA descriptor.\\nPR:L - No capability check exists anywhere in drivers/accel/qaic/, and the ioctl is registered with flags 0 so drm_ioctl_permit() applies no root or auth gate; only an open fd on the accel node is needed. On the multi-tenant inference hosts this accelerator targets, that node is granted to ordinary unprivileged workload users.\\nUI:N - The attacker performs the entire sequence itself with two ioctls on a device it opened. No victim action or cooperation is involved.\\nS:U - The corruption occurs in host kernel memory under the same kernel security authority; this is a standard local kernel privilege-escalation primitive rather than a VM or IOMMU-boundary escape.\\nC:H - A DMA_TO_DEVICE slice with the wrapped length makes the device read up to ~4 GiB of host memory past the buffer and copy it into accelerator memory, which the same unprivileged user can read back, yielding large-scale disclosure of kernel and other tenants\u0027 data.\\nI:H - A DMA_FROM_DEVICE slice makes the device write ~4 GiB of attacker-controlled data beyond the 8 KiB buffer, giving a wide out-of-bounds write over kernel memory that is readily leveraged into control-flow hijack and privilege escalation.\\nA:H - The multi-gigabyte overrun corrupts arbitrary kernel structures and page tables, reliably producing an oops or panic; with an IOMMU present it instead raises DMA faults that wedge or force a reset of the accelerator.\"}]}], \"affected\": [{\"repo\": \"https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux.git\", \"vendor\": \"Linux\", \"product\": \"Linux\", \"versions\": [{\"status\": \"affected\", \"version\": \"ff13be8303336ead5621712f2c55012d738878b5\", \"lessThan\": \"4b2a170c25862ad116bd31be6b9841646b4862e8\", \"versionType\": \"git\"}, {\"status\": \"affected\", \"version\": \"ff13be8303336ead5621712f2c55012d738878b5\", \"lessThan\": \"b362fc904d264a88b4af20baae9e82491c285e9c\", \"versionType\": \"git\"}, {\"status\": \"affected\", \"version\": \"ff13be8303336ead5621712f2c55012d738878b5\", \"lessThan\": \"57fae0c505f49bb1e3d5660cd2cc49697ed85f7c\", \"versionType\": \"git\"}, {\"status\": \"affected\", \"version\": \"ff13be8303336ead5621712f2c55012d738878b5\", \"lessThan\": \"67d15c7aa0864dfd82325c7e7e7d8548b5224c7b\", \"versionType\": \"git\"}], \"programFiles\": [\"drivers/accel/qaic/qaic_data.c\"], \"defaultStatus\": \"unaffected\"}, {\"repo\": \"https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux.git\", \"vendor\": \"Linux\", \"product\": \"Linux\", \"versions\": [{\"status\": \"affected\", \"version\": \"6.4\"}, {\"status\": \"unaffected\", \"version\": \"0\", \"lessThan\": \"6.4\", \"versionType\": \"semver\"}, {\"status\": \"unaffected\", \"version\": \"6.6.85\", \"versionType\": \"semver\", \"lessThanOrEqual\": \"6.6.*\"}, {\"status\": \"unaffected\", \"version\": \"6.12.21\", \"versionType\": \"semver\", \"lessThanOrEqual\": \"6.12.*\"}, {\"status\": \"unaffected\", \"version\": \"6.13.9\", \"versionType\": \"semver\", \"lessThanOrEqual\": \"6.13.*\"}, {\"status\": \"unaffected\", \"version\": \"6.14\", \"versionType\": \"original_commit_for_fix\", \"lessThanOrEqual\": \"*\"}], \"programFiles\": [\"drivers/accel/qaic/qaic_data.c\"], \"defaultStatus\": \"affected\"}], \"references\": [{\"url\": \"https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/4b2a170c25862ad116bd31be6b9841646b4862e8\"}, {\"url\": \"https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/b362fc904d264a88b4af20baae9e82491c285e9c\"}, {\"url\": \"https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/57fae0c505f49bb1e3d5660cd2cc49697ed85f7c\"}, {\"url\": \"https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/67d15c7aa0864dfd82325c7e7e7d8548b5224c7b\"}], \"x_generator\": {\"engine\": \"bippy-1.2.0\"}, \"descriptions\": [{\"lang\": \"en\", \"value\": \"In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:\\n\\naccel/qaic: Fix integer overflow in qaic_validate_req()\\n\\nThese are u64 variables that come from the user via\\nqaic_attach_slice_bo_ioctl(). Related by attack behaviour

Vulnerabilities whose description is nearest to this one in the vector space of the CIRCL/vulnerability-attack-technique-biencoder model. This is a similarity search over the bi-encoder space (plain cosine), not a classification, and it has no measured accuracy.
