Summary
Red Hat Security Advisory: Red Hat OpenShift Serverless Client kn 1.12.0
Notes
Topic
Red Hat OpenShift Serverless Client kn 1.12.0
Red Hat Product Security has rated this update as having a security impact
of Moderate. A Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) base score,
which gives a detailed severity rating, is available for each
vulnerability. For more information, see the CVE links in the References
section.
Details
Red Hat OpenShift Serverless Client kn CLI is delivered as an RPM package for installation on RHEL platforms, and as binaries for non-Linux platforms.
Red Hat OpenShift Serverless Client kn 1.12.0 provides a CLI to interact
with Red Hat OpenShift Serverless 1.12.0, and includes security and bug fixes and enhancements. For more information, see the release notes listed in the References section.
Security Fix(es):
* golang: default Content-Type setting in net/http/cgi and net/http/fcgi could cause XSS (CVE-2020-24553)
* golang: math/big: panic during recursive division of very large numbers (CVE-2020-28362)
* golang: malicious symbol names can lead to code execution at build time (CVE-2020-28366)
* golang: improper validation of cgo flags can lead to code execution at build time (CVE-2020-28367)
For more details about the security issues and their impact, the CVSS
score, acknowledgements, and other related information, see the CVE pages
listed in the References section.

Using `go get` or `go build` and as such, the relevant components have been marked as not affected.\n\nAdditionally, only the main RPMs and containers for OCP, RHOSJ, OSSM, and OpenShift Virtualization are represented due to the large volume of not affected components.\n\nRed Hat Ceph Storage 3 ships the vulnerable version of go, and an attacker building go code on RHCS 3 could potentially exploit this vulnerability.", "title": "Statement" }, { "category": "general", "text": "The CVSS score(s) listed for this vulnerability do not reflect the associated product\u0027s status, and are included for informational purposes to better understand the severity of this vulnerability.", "title": "CVSS score applicability" } ], "product_status": { "fixed": [ "8Base-Openshift-Serverless-1:openshift-serverless-clients-0:0.18.4-2.el8.src", "8Base-Openshift-Serverless-1:openshift-serverless-clients-0:0.18.4-2.el8.x86_64" ] }, "references": [ { "category": "self", "summary": "Canonical URL", "url": "https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2020-28367" }, { "category": "external", "summary": "RHBZ#1897646", "url": "https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1897646" }, { "category": "external", "summary": "https://www.cve.org/CVERecord?id=CVE-2020-28367", "url": "https://www.cve.org/CVERecord?id=CVE-2020-28367" }, { "category": "external", "summary": "https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2020-28367", "url": "https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2020-28367" }, { "category": "external", "summary": "https://groups.google.com/g/golang-announce/c/NpBGTTmKzpM/m/fLguyiM2CAAJ", "url": "https://groups.google.com/g/golang-announce/c/NpBGTTmKzpM/m/fLguyiM2CAAJ" } ], "release_date": "2020-11-12T00:00:00+00:00", "remediations": [ { "category": "vendor_fix", "date": "2021-01-14T13:40:17+00:00", "details": "See the documentation at:\nhttps://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/openshift_container_platform/4.6/html/serverless_applications/index", "product_ids": [ "8Base-Openshift-Serverless-1:openshift-serverless-clients-0:0.18.4-2.el8.src", "8Base-Openshift-Serverless-1:openshift-serverless-clients-0:0.18.4-2.el8.x86_64" ], "restart_required": { "category": "none" }, "url": "https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2021:0145" }, { "category": "workaround", "details": "If it\u0027s possible to confirm that the go project being built does not rely on any cgo code in the included dependencies, the env variable CGO_ENABLED=0 can be specified when using either `go get` or `go build`. \n\nFor example:\n CGO_ENABLED=0 go get github.com/someproject\n\nThis will not stop the files being downloaded but will stop any automatic complication of the cgo code, including inlined in the go file and separate .c files.
