Summary
Red Hat Security Advisory: python-idna security update

Notes

Topic
An update for python-idna is now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 Extended Lifecycle Support. Red Hat Product Security has rated this update as having a security impact of Moderate. A Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) base score, which gives a detailed severity rating, is available for each vulnerability from the CVE link(s) in the References section.
Details
The hsakmt packages include a thunk library for AMD's Heterogeneous System Architecture (HSA) Linux kernel driver (amdkfd). Security Fix(es): * python-idna: potential DoS via resource consumption via specially crafted inputs to idna.encode() (CVE-2024-3651) For more details about the security issue(s), including the impact, a CVSS score, acknowledgments, and other related information, refer to the CVE page(s) listed in the References section.
