In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

net: wwan: t7xx: fix potential skb->frags overflow in RX path

When receiving data in the DPMAIF RX path,
the t7xx_dpmaif_set_frag_to_skb() function adds
page fragments to an skb without checking if the number of
fragments has exceeded MAX_SKB_FRAGS. This could lead to a buffer overflow
in skb_shinfo(skb)->frags[] array, corrupting adjacent memory and
potentially causing kernel crashes or other undefined behavior.

This issue was identified through static code analysis by comparing with a
similar vulnerability fixed in the mt76 driver commit b102f0c522cf ("mt76:
fix array overflow on receiving too many fragments for a packet").

The vulnerability could be triggered if the modem firmware sends packets
with excessive fragments. While under normal protocol conditions (MTU 3080
bytes, BAT buffer 3584 bytes),
a single packet should not require additional
fragments, the kernel should not blindly trust firmware behavior.
Malicious, buggy, or compromised firmware could potentially craft packets
with more fragments than the kernel expects.

Fix this by adding a bounds check before calling skb_add_rx_frag() to
ensure nr_frags does not exceed MAX_SKB_FRAGS.

The check must be performed before unmapping to avoid a page leak
and double DMA unmap during device teardown.
AV:L - The vulnerability is in a PCIe WWAN modem driver (t7xx). Data originates from the local modem device via DMA. While the modem could theoretically be compromised over cellular, the immediate attack vector is the local PCIe device interface, not a network protocol stack.
AC:L - Once the modem firmware is compromised, triggering the overflow is straightforward — simply send a packet with more than MAX_SKB_FRAGS (17) fragment PIT entries. No race conditions, special timing, or non-default configuration required.
PR:N - No OS-level privileges or authentication are needed. The modem device sends DMA data autonomously without any credential check from the kernel; the entire RX path from IRQ through NAPI poll to the vulnerable function has zero privilege gates.
UI:N - No user interaction is required. The vulnerability is triggered automatically during packet reception when the modem's NAPI poll processes incoming DMA data.
S:U - The impact stays within the kernel's security authority. There is no crossing of a virtualization, sandbox, or IOMMU boundary.
C:H - The heap buffer overflow past the frags[] array (last field in skb_shared_info) corrupts adjacent slab objects with attacker-influenced content (page pointers and sizes), potentially enabling arbitrary kernel memory reads.
I:H - The overflow writes attacker-controlled skb_frag_t entries (page pointers, offsets, sizes) past the slab allocation boundary, corrupting adjacent kernel objects including potentially slab freelist pointers, enabling arbitrary write primitives and code execution.
A:H - Corrupting slab metadata or adjacent kernel objects will almost certainly cause a kernel crash or panic, as confirmed by the analogous mt76 CVE which explicitly noted freelist pointer corruption.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

RDMA/rxe: Validate pad and ICRC before payload_size() in rxe_rcv

rxe_rcv() currently checks only that the incoming packet is at least
header_size(pkt) bytes long before payload_size() is used.

However, payload_size() subtracts both the attacker-controlled BTH pad
field and RXE_ICRC_SIZE from pkt->paylen:

payload_size = pkt->paylen - offset[RXE_PAYLOAD] - bth_pad(pkt)
- RXE_ICRC_SIZE

This means a short packet can still make payload_size() underflow even
if it includes enough bytes for the fixed headers. Simply requiring
header_size(pkt) + RXE_ICRC_SIZE is not sufficient either, because a
packet with a forged non-zero BTH pad can still leave payload_size()
negative and pass an underflowed value to later receive-path users.

Fix this by validating pkt->paylen against the full minimum length
required by payload_size(): header_size(pkt) + bth_pad(pkt) +
RXE_ICRC_SIZE.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

RDMA/rxe: Reject non-8-byte ATOMIC_WRITE payloads

atomic_write_reply() at drivers/infiniband/sw/rxe/rxe_resp.c
unconditionally dereferences 8 bytes at payload_addr(pkt):

value = *(u64 *)payload_addr(pkt);

check_rkey() previously accepted an ATOMIC_WRITE request with pktlen ==
resid == 0 because the length validation only compared pktlen against
resid. A remote initiator that sets the RETH length to 0 therefore reaches
atomic_write_reply() with a zero-byte logical payload, and the responder
reads sizeof(u64) bytes from past the logical end of the packet into
skb->head tailroom, then writes those 8 bytes into the attacker's MR via
rxe_mr_do_atomic_write(). That is a remote disclosure of 4 bytes of kernel
tailroom per probe (the other 4 bytes are the packet's own trailing ICRC).

IBA oA19-28 defines ATOMIC_WRITE as exactly 8 bytes. Anything else is
protocol-invalid. Hoist a strict length check into check_rkey() so the
responder never reaches the unchecked dereference, and keep the existing
WRITE-family length logic for the normal RDMA WRITE path.

Reproduced on mainline with an unmodified rxe driver: a sustained
zero-length ATOMIC_WRITE probe repeatedly leaks adjacent skb head-buffer
bytes into the attacker's MR, including recognisable kernel strings and
partial kernel-direct-map pointer words. With this patch applied the
responder rejects the PDU and the MR stays all-zero.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

RDMA/rxe: Reject unknown opcodes before ICRC processing

Even after applying commit 7244491dab34 ("RDMA/rxe: Validate pad and ICRC
before payload_size() in rxe_rcv"), a single unauthenticated UDP packet
can still trigger panic. That patch handled payload_size() underflow only
for valid opcodes with short packets, not for packets carrying an unknown
opcode. The unknown-opcode OOB read described below predates that commit
and reaches back to the initial Soft RoCE driver.

The check added there reads

pkt->paylen < header_size(pkt) + bth_pad(pkt) + RXE_ICRC_SIZE

where header_size(pkt) expands to rxe_opcode[pkt->opcode].length. The
rxe_opcode[] array has 256 entries but is only populated for defined IB
opcodes; any other entry (for example opcode 0xff) is zero-initialized, so
length == 0 and the check degenerates to

pkt->paylen < 0 + bth_pad(pkt) + RXE_ICRC_SIZE

which does not constrain pkt->paylen enough. rxe_icrc_hdr() then computes

rxe_opcode[pkt->opcode].length - RXE_BTH_BYTES

which underflows when length == 0 and passes a huge value to rxe_crc32(),
causing an out-of-bounds read of the skb payload.

Reproduced on v7.0-rc7 with that fix applied, QEMU/KVM with
CONFIG_RDMA_RXE=y and CONFIG_KASAN=y, after

rdma link add rxe0 type rxe netdev eth0

A single 48-byte UDP packet to port 4791 with BTH opcode=0xff and
QPN=IB_MULTICAST_QPN triggers:

BUG: KASAN: slab-out-of-bounds in crc32_le+0x115/0x170
Read of size 1 at addr ...
The buggy address is located 0 bytes to the right of
allocated 704-byte region
Call Trace:
crc32_le+0x115/0x170
rxe_icrc_hdr.isra.0+0x226/0x300
rxe_icrc_check+0x13f/0x3a0
rxe_rcv+0x6e1/0x16e0
rxe_udp_encap_recv+0x20a/0x320
udp_queue_rcv_one_skb+0x7ed/0x12c0

Subsequent packets with the same shape fault on unmapped memory and panic
the kernel. The trigger requires only module load and "rdma link add"; no
QP, no connection, and no authentication.

Fix this by rejecting packets whose opcode has no rxe_opcode[] entry,
detected via the zero mask or zero length, before any length arithmetic
runs.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

IB/isert: Reject login PDUs shorter than ISER_HEADERS_LEN

In drivers/infiniband/ulp/isert/ib_isert.c, isert_login_recv_done()
computes the login request payload length as wc->byte_len minus
ISER_HEADERS_LEN with no lower bound, and login_req_len is a signed int.
A remote iSER initiator can post a login Send work request carrying
fewer than ISER_HEADERS_LEN (76) bytes, so the subtraction underflows
and login_req_len becomes negative.

isert_rx_login_req() then reads that negative length back into a signed
int, takes size = min(rx_buflen, MAX_KEY_VALUE_PAIRS), and because the
min() is signed it keeps the negative value; the value is then passed as
the memcpy() length and sign-extended to a multi-gigabyte size_t. The
copy into the 8192-byte login->req_buf runs far out of bounds and
faults, crashing the target node. The login phase precedes iSCSI
authentication, so no credentials are required to reach this path.

Reject any login PDU shorter than ISER_HEADERS_LEN before the
subtraction, mirroring the existing early return on a failed work
completion, so login_req_len can never go negative. The upper bound was
already safe: a posted login buffer cannot deliver more than
ISER_RX_PAYLOAD_SIZE, so the difference stays at or below
MAX_KEY_VALUE_PAIRS and the existing min() clamps it; only the missing
lower bound needs to be added.
AV:N - The vulnerable code is reached by a remote iSER initiator over an RDMA/iSER target portal using RDMA CM and posted Send login PDUs. This is network protocol input to a kernel storage target service.
AC:L - The attacker only needs to establish an iSER connection and send a login PDU shorter than ISER_HEADERS_LEN. No race or condition outside the attacker's control is required.
PR:N - The vulnerable memcpy occurs during iSCSI login processing before CHAP/authentication, initiator ACL checks, and normal session authorization complete. No credentials are required.
UI:N - Exploitation is triggered solely by attacker-sent network/RDMA traffic to the exposed target portal. No victim user action is required.
S:U - The impact is within the kernel and target host security authority. There is no VM, IOMMU, or other cross-scope boundary involved.
C:H - The signed underflow drives an out-of-bounds kernel memcpy that reads far beyond the receive buffer. As kernel memory corruption with an out-of-bounds read component, high confidentiality impact is the higher defensible choice.
I:H - The same oversized memcpy writes far beyond the 8192-byte login request buffer into adjacent kernel memory. This is an out-of-bounds write and may be exploitable for kernel memory corruption, so integrity impact is high.
A:H - The commit and code path show the huge memcpy faults and crashes the iSER target node. A remote unauthenticated attacker can repeatedly trigger kernel oops/panic-level denial of service.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

ALSA: timer: Fix UAF at snd_timer_user_params()

At releasing a timer object, e.g. when a userspace timer
(CONFIG_SND_UTIMER) gets closed and snd_timer_free() is called, it
tries to detach the timer instances and release the resources.
However, it's still possible that other in-flight tasks are holding
the timer instance where the to-be-deleted timer object is associated,
and this may lead to racy accesses.

Fortunately, most of ioctls dealing with the timer instance list
already have the protection with register_mutex, and this also avoids
such races. But, SNDRV_TIMER_IOCTL_PARAMS isn't protected, hence the
concurrent ioctl may lead to use-after-free.

This patch just adds the guard with register_mutex to protect
snd_timer_user_params() for covering the code path as a quick
workaround. It's no hot-path but rather a rarely issued ioctl, so the
performance penalty doesn't matter.
AV:L - The vulnerable path is reached through local `/dev/snd/timer` ioctls, specifically `SNDRV_TIMER_IOCTL_PARAMS`, after selecting a userspace-driven ALSA timer. It is not reachable by remote network input.
AC:L - The attacker can create the userspace-driven timer, select it, and race the params ioctl against closing the returned timer fd using their own threads or processes. No external victim state or uncontrollable timing condition is required beyond an attacker-controlled race.
PR:L - The kernel path has no capability or admin check, but exploitation requires local access to the ALSA timer device as a basic local user. It does not require real root or init-namespace capabilities.
UI:N - No victim action is required after the attacker has local execution and device access. The attacker can open the timer device, issue ioctls, and close fds directly.
S:U - The impact is within the same kernel security authority. This is a standard local kernel memory corruption issue, not a VM escape or cross-scope boundary violation.
C:H - The bug is a use-after-free of a kernel timer object reachable from a user-controlled race. Kernel UAFs can be leveraged for information disclosure through heap reuse and memory manipulation.
I:H - The stale timer pointer is subsequently dereferenced and used for locking/state decisions, making this kernel heap UAF plausibly exploitable for memory corruption and privilege escalation. Under the required overestimation rule, integrity impact is High.
A:H - Even without full exploitation, the UAF can dereference or lock freed kernel memory and crash or hang the kernel. Repeated local triggering can therefore cause high availability impact."

The problem is, however, when
there are slave timer instances that are associated with a master
instance linked to this timer: namely, those slave instances still
point to the freed timer object although the master instance is
unlinked, which may lead to user-after-free. The bug can be easily
triggered particularly when a new userspace-driven timers
(CONFIG_SND_UTIMER) is involved, since it can create and delete the
timer object via a simple file open/close, while the other
applications may keep accessing to that timer.

This patch is an attempt to paper over the problem above: now instead
of just unlinking, call snd_timer_close[_locked]() forcibly for each
pending timer instance, so that all assigned slave timer instances are
properly detached, too. Since snd_timer_close() might be called later
by the driver that created that instance, the check of
SNDRV_TIMER_IFLG_DEAD is added at the beginning, too."
