"value": "In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:\n\nsoc: qcom: socinfo: Avoid out of bounds read of serial number\n\nOn MSM8916 devices, the serial number exposed in sysfs is constant and does\nnot change across individual devices. It\u0027s always:\n\n db410c:/sys/devices/soc0$ cat serial_number\n 2644893864\n\nThe firmware used on MSM8916 exposes SOCINFO_VERSION(0, 8), which does not\nhave support for the serial_num field in the socinfo struct. There is an\nexisting check to avoid exposing the serial number in that case, but it\u0027s\nnot correct: When checking the item_size returned by SMEM, we need to make\nsure the *end* of the serial_num is within bounds, instead of comparing\nwith the *start* offset. The serial_number currently exposed on MSM8916\ndevices is just an out of bounds read of whatever comes after the socinfo\nstruct in SMEM.\n\nFix this by changing offsetof() to offsetofend(), so that the size of the\nfield is also taken into account."

This could lead to a buffer overflow\nin skb_shinfo(skb)-\u003efrags[] array, corrupting adjacent memory and\npotentially causing kernel crashes or other undefined behavior.\n\nThis issue was identified through static code analysis by comparing with a\nsimilar vulnerability fixed in the mt76 driver commit b102f0c522cf (\"mt76:\nfix array overflow on receiving too many fragments for a packet\").\n\nThe vulnerability could be triggered if the modem firmware sends packets\nwith excessive fragments. While under normal protocol conditions (MTU 3080\nbytes, BAT buffer 3584 bytes),\na single packet should not require additional\nfragments, the kernel should not blindly trust firmware behavior.\nMalicious, buggy, or compromised firmware could potentially craft packets\nwith more fragments than the kernel expects.\n\nFix this by adding a bounds check before calling skb_add_rx_frag() to\nensure nr_frags does not exceed MAX_SKB_FRAGS.\n\nThe check must be performed before unmapping to avoid a page leak\nand double DMA unmap during device teardown."

"value": "In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:\n\nIB/isert: Reject login PDUs shorter than ISER_HEADERS_LEN\n\nIn drivers/infiniband/ulp/isert/ib_isert.c, isert_login_recv_done()\ncomputes the login request payload length as wc-\u003ebyte_len minus\nISER_HEADERS_LEN with no lower bound, and login_req_len is a signed int.\nA remote iSER initiator can post a login Send work request carrying\nfewer than ISER_HEADERS_LEN (76) bytes, so the subtraction underflows\nand login_req_len becomes negative.\n\nisert_rx_login_req() then reads that negative length back into a signed\nint, takes size = min(rx_buflen, MAX_KEY_VALUE_PAIRS), and because the\nmin() is signed it keeps the negative value; the value is then passed as\nthe memcpy() length and sign-extended to a multi-gigabyte size_t. The\ncopy into the 8192-byte login-\u003ereq_buf runs far out of bounds and\nfaults, crashing the target node. The login phase precedes iSCSI\nauthentication, so no credentials are required to reach this path.\n\nReject any login PDU shorter than ISER_HEADERS_LEN before the\nsubtraction, mirroring the existing early return on a failed work\ncompletion, so login_req_len can never go negative. The upper bound was\nalready safe: a posted login buffer cannot deliver more than\nISER_RX_PAYLOAD_SIZE, so the difference stays at or below\nMAX_KEY_VALUE_PAIRS and the existing min() clamps it; only the missing\nlower bound needs to be added."

"value": "In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:\n\nALSA: timer: Fix UAF at snd_timer_user_params()\n\nAt releasing a timer object, e.g. when a userspace timer\n(CONFIG_SND_UTIMER) gets closed and snd_timer_free() is called, it\ntries to detach the timer instances and release the resources.\nHowever, it\u0027s still possible that other in-flight tasks are holding\nthe timer instance where the to-be-deleted timer object is associated,\nand this may lead to racy accesses.\n\nFortunately, most of ioctls dealing with the timer instance list\nalready have the protection with register_mutex, and this also avoids\nsuch races. But, SNDRV_TIMER_IOCTL_PARAMS isn\u0027t protected, hence the\nconcurrent ioctl may lead to use-after-free.\n\nThis patch just adds the guard with register_mutex to protect\nsnd_timer_user_params() for covering the code path as a quick\nworkaround. It\u0027s no hot-path but rather a rarely issued ioctl, so the\nperformance penalty doesn\u0027t matter."

"value": "In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:\n\nALSA: timer: Forcibly close timer instances at closing\n\nWhen snd_timer object is freed via snd_timer_free() and still pending\nsnd_timer_instance objects are assigned to the timer object, it tries\nto unlink all instances and just set NULL to each ti-\u003etimer, then\nreleases the resources immediately. The problem is, however, when\nthere are slave timer instances that are associated with a master\ninstance linked to this timer: namely, those slave instances still\npoint to the freed timer object although the master instance is\nunlinked, which may lead to user-after-free. The bug can be easily\ntriggered particularly when a new userspace-driven timers\n(CONFIG_SND_UTIMER) is involved, since it can create and delete the\ntimer object via a simple file open/close, while the other\napplications may keep accessing to that timer.\n\nThis patch is an attempt to paper over the problem above: now instead\nof just unlinking, call snd_timer_close[_locked]() forcibly for each\npending timer instance, so that all assigned slave timer instances are\nproperly detached, too. Since snd_timer_close() might be called later\nby the driver that created that instance, the check of\nSNDRV_TIMER_IFLG_DEAD is added at the beginning, too."

"value": "In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:\n\nALSA: seq: Serialize UMP output teardown with event_input\n\nseq_ump_process_event() borrows client-\u003eout_rfile.output without\nsynchronizing with the first-open and last-close transition in\nseq_ump_client_open() and seq_ump_client_close().\n\nThe last output unuse can therefore drop opened[STR_OUT] to zero and\nrelease the rawmidi file while an in-flight event_input callback is still\ninside snd_rawmidi_kernel_write(). That leaves the rawmidi substream\nruntime exposed to teardown before the write path has taken its own\nbuffer reference.\n\nAdd a per-client rwlock for the event_input-visible output file. Publish\na newly opened output file under the write side, and hold the read side\nfrom the output lookup through snd_rawmidi_kernel_write(). The last\noutput close copies and clears the visible output file under the write\nside, then drops the lock and releases the saved rawmidi file. Use\nIRQ-safe rwlock guards because event_input can also be reached from\natomic sequencer delivery.\n\nThe buggy scenario involves two paths, with each column showing the\norder within that path:\n\npath A label: event_input path path B label: last unuse path\n1. seq_ump_process_event() reads 1. seq_ump_client_close()\n client-\u003eout_rfile.output. drops opened[STR_OUT] to zero.\n2. snd_rawmidi_kernel_write1() 2. snd_rawmidi_kernel_release()\n has not yet pinned runtime. closes the output file.\n3. However, iwl_mld_tx_from_txq() does not check this flag before\ndequeuing frames from mac80211 and pushing them to the transport layer.\n\nSince the firmware is dead, iwl_trans_tx() returns -EIO for each frame,\nwhich then gets freed immediately. Under high-throughput conditions\n(e.g., Tailscale UDP traffic or active SSH sessions), this creates a\ntight dequeue-send-fail-free loop that wastes CPU cycles and generates\nrapid skb allocation churn, leading to memory pressure from slab\nfragmentation.\n\nThe RX path already has this guard (iwl_mld_rx_mpdu checks\nin_hw_restart at rx.c:1906), and so does the TXQ allocation worker\n(iwl_mld_add_txqs_wk at tx.c:156). Add the same guard to\niwl_mld_tx_from_txq() to stop all TX during firmware restart.\n\nFrames left in mac80211\u0027s TXQs are naturally drained after restart\ncompletes, when queue reallocation triggers iwl_mld_tx_from_txq()\nvia iwl_mld_add_txq_list(), or when new upper-layer traffic invokes\nwake_tx_queue.\n\nTested on ASUS Zenbook 14 UX3405CA with Intel BE201 (Wi-Fi 7) on\nkernel 6.19.5 where the firmware crashes approximately every 10-15\nminutes under Tailscale traffic."
