Notes

Topic
The Red Hat Build of OpenJDK 11 (java-11-openjdk) is now available for Windows. Red Hat Product Security has rated this update as having a security impact of Important. A Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) base score, which gives a detailed severity rating, is available for each vulnerability from the CVE link(s) in the References section.
Details
The OpenJDK 11 packages provide the OpenJDK 11 Java Runtime Environment and the OpenJDK 11 Java Software Development Kit. This release of the Red Hat build of OpenJDK 11 (11.0.16) for Windows serves as a replacement for the Red Hat build of OpenJDK 11 (11.0.15) and includes security and bug fixes, and enhancements. For further information, refer to the release notes linked to in the References section. Security Fix(es): * OpenJDK: class compilation issue (Hotspot, 8281859) (CVE-2022-21540) * OpenJDK: improper restriction of MethodHandle.invokeBasic() (Hotspot, 8281866) (CVE-2022-21541) * OpenJDK: integer truncation issue in Xalan (JAXP, 8285407) (CVE-2022-34169) For more details about the security issue(s), including the impact, a CVSS score, acknowledgments, and other related information, refer to the CVE page(s) listed in the References section. Other Changes: * Red Hat builds of OpenJDK now identify themselves as such in the version output of OpenJDK tools.

Easily exploitable vulnerability allows unauthenticated attacker with network access via multiple protocols to compromise Oracle Java SE, Oracle GraalVM Enterprise Edition. Successful attacks of this vulnerability can result in unauthorized read access to a subset of Oracle Java SE, Oracle GraalVM Enterprise Edition accessible data. Note: This vulnerability applies to Java deployments, typically in clients running sandboxed Java Web Start applications or sandboxed Java applets, that load and run untrusted code (e.g., code that comes from the internet) and rely on the Java sandbox for security. This vulnerability can also be exploited by using APIs in the specified Component, e.g., through a web service which supplies data to the APIs. CVSS 3.1 Base Score 5.3 (Confidentiality impacts).
