Vulnerability from csaf_redhat - Published: 2026-04-29 06:17 - Updated: 2026-05-02 02:48
Summary
Red Hat Security Advisory: pcs security update
Severity
Important
Notes
Topic: An update for pcs is now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.4 Advanced Mission Critical Update Support and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.4 Extended Update Support Long-Life Add-On. Red Hat Product Security has rated this update as having a security impact of Important. A Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) base score, which gives a detailed severity rating, is available for each vulnerability from the CVE link(s) in the References section.
Details: The pcs packages provide a command-line configuration system for the Pacemaker and Corosync utilities. Security Fix(es): * tornado-python: Tornado: Denial of Service via large multipart bodies (CVE-2026-31958) * lodash: lodash: Arbitrary code execution via untrusted input in template imports (CVE-2026-4800) For more details about the security issue(s), including the impact, a CVSS score, acknowledgments, and other related information, refer to the CVE page(s) listed in the References section.
Terms of Use: This content is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/). If you distribute this content, or a modified version of it, you must provide attribution to Red Hat Inc. and provide a link to the original.

A flaw was found in lodash. The fix for CVE-2021-23337 added validation for the variable option in _.template but did not apply the same validation to options.imports key names. Both paths flow into the same Function() constructor sink. Additionally, _.template uses assignInWith to merge imports, which enumerates inherited properties via for..in. If Object.prototype has been polluted by any other vector, the polluted keys are copied into the imports object and passed to Function().

CWE-94 - Improper Control of Generation of Code ('Code Injection')
Vendor Fix For details on how to apply this update, which includes the changes described in this advisory, refer to: https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:11493
Workaround Mitigation for this issue is either not available or the currently available options do not meet the Red Hat Product Security criteria comprising ease of use and deployment, applicability to widespread installation base or stability.

A flaw was found in tornado-python. A remote attacker can exploit this vulnerability by sending a specially crafted, very large multipart body with numerous parts. Because the parsing of these large bodies occurs synchronously on the main thread, it can consume excessive resources, leading to a denial of service (DoS) for the application.

CWE-770 - Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling
Vendor Fix For details on how to apply this update, which includes the changes described in this advisory, refer to: https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:11493
Workaround Mitigation for this issue is either not available or the currently available options do not meet the Red Hat Product Security criteria comprising ease of use and deployment, applicability to widespread installation base or stability.
