AV:L - The bug is reached purely through local syscalls — inotify_init/inotify_add_watch/inotify_rm_watch on one side and mount/umount on the other. No network or remote peer input is involved.
AC:L - The attacker owns both sides of the race: their own thread dropping the inotify mark and their own thread unmounting their own tmpfs in a private mount namespace, and the loop can be retried indefinitely with attacker-chosen heap grooming and CPU pinning to widen the window.
PR:L - inotify_user.c has no capability checks at all, and tmpfs/ramfs/FUSE are FS_USERNS_MOUNT, so an unprivileged user gets the required mount and umount via unshare -Urm — per guidance, user-namespace-reachable is Low, not High.
UI:N - A single unprivileged process drives the entire sequence — create the mount, add and remove the watch, and unmount — with no action by any other user.
S:U - The corruption is of kernel slab objects (super_block, shmem_sb_info) within the same kernel security authority; no VM, IOMMU, or sandbox boundary is crossed.
C:H - The freed super_block and s_fs_info are read after free (SHMEM_SB(inode->i_sb) dereference, sb->s_fsnotify_info read), and since the attacker can reallocate those kmalloc slots with controlled data and observe the results, this is leverageable for kernel memory disclosure.
I:H - The post-free path performs writes into freed memory — sbinfo->free_ispace accumulation, spin_lock acquisition, and list_del on the freed sb->s_inodes head — giving a groomable write primitive into attacker-reallocated slab objects suitable for control-flow hijacking.
A:H - The most likely outcome is the CHECK_DATA_CORRUPTION("VFS: Busy inodes after unmount") report, which is a BUG() with CONFIG_BUG_ON_DATA_CORRUPTION, and otherwise the use-after-free on a freed superblock reliably oopses the kernel.
AV:L - The vulnerable path is reached through local futex2/io_uring futex operations using FUTEX2_MPOL against the caller's user address space. It is not exposed directly to remote packets or adjacent/physical inputs.
AC:L - The attacker can control both sides of the race by running concurrent threads that invoke futex wake/wait key derivation and mbind()/set_mempolicy_home_node() policy replacement on the same VMA. No external victim timing or rare state is required once the affected CONFIG_FUTEX_MPOL kernel is in use.
PR:L - Both futex operations and basic mbind() VMA policy replacement are available to an unprivileged local user for their own process address space. The only relevant capability check is for MPOL_MF_MOVE_ALL, which is not needed to replace the VMA policy and trigger the UAF.
UI:N - No victim action is required; the attacker can create the mapping, set policy, and issue the racing syscalls directly. Exploitation is self-contained in attacker-controlled local processes/threads.
S:U - The bug is in the kernel's futex/mempolicy handling and affects the same kernel security authority. This is a standard local kernel vulnerability rather than a VM/IOMMU or separate-scope boundary crossing.
C:H - This is a kernel use-after-free of struct mempolicy during futex key derivation, and UAF conditions can expose freed kernel heap contents or be shaped with heap reuse. Following the higher-severity rule for UAFs, confidentiality impact is High.
I:H - The stale mempolicy data influences futex hash node selection and subsequent kernel data structure access, making memory corruption or control-flow-relevant exploitation defensible under UAF heap reuse. Following the higher-severity rule for UAFs, integrity impact is High.
A:H - The reported failure is a KASAN slab-use-after-free in __futex_key_to_node(), and stale or invalid policy data can crash/oops the kernel. A local attacker can trigger the race repeatedly, so availability impact is High.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

drm/amd/display: Do not skip unrelated mode changes in DSC validation

Starting with commit 17ce8a6907f7 ("drm/amd/display: Add dsc pre-validation in
atomic check"), amdgpu resets the CRTC state mode_changed flag to false when
recomputing the DSC configuration results in no timing change for a particular
stream.

However, this is incorrect in scenarios where a change in MST/DSC configuration
happens in the same KMS commit as another (unrelated) mode change. For example,
the integrated panel of a laptop may be configured differently (e.g., HDR
enabled/disabled) depending on whether external screens are attached. In this
case, plugging in external DP-MST screens may result in the mode_changed flag
being dropped incorrectly for the integrated panel if its DSC configuration
did not change during precomputation in pre_validate_dsc().

At this point, however, dm_update_crtc_state() has already created new streams
for CRTCs with DSC-independent mode changes. In turn,
amdgpu_dm_commit_streams() will never release the old stream, resulting in a
memory leak. amdgpu_dm_atomic_commit_tail() will never acquire a reference to
the new stream either, which manifests as a use-after-free when the stream gets
disabled later on:

BUG: KASAN: use-after-free in dc_stream_release+0x25/0x90 [amdgpu]
Write of size 4 at addr ffff88813d836524 by task kworker/9:9/29977

Workqueue: events drm_mode_rmfb_work_fn
Call Trace:
<TASK>
dump_stack_lvl+0x6e/0xa0
print_address_description.constprop.0+0x88/0x320
? dc_stream_release+0x25/0x90 [amdgpu]
print_report+0xfc/0x1ff
? srso_alias_return_thunk+0x5/0xfbef5
? __virt_addr_valid+0x225/0x4e0
? dc_stream_release+0x25/0x90 [amdgpu]
kasan_report+0xe1/0x180
? dc_stream_release+0x25/0x90 [amdgpu]
kasan_check_range+0x125/0x200
dc_stream_release+0x25/0x90 [amdgpu]
dc_state_destruct+0x14d/0x5c0 [amdgpu]
dc_state_release.part.0+0x4e/0x130 [amdgpu]
dm_atomic_destroy_state+0x3f/0x70 [amdgpu]
drm_atomic_state_default_clear+0x8ee/0xf30
? drm_mode_object_put.part.0+0xb1/0x130
__drm_atomic_state_free+0x15c/0x2d0
atomic_remove_fb+0x67e/0x980

Since there is no reliable way of figuring out whether a CRTC has unrelated
mode changes pending at the time of DSC validation, remember the value of the
mode_changed flag from before the point where a CRTC was marked as potentially
affected by a change in DSC configuration. Reset the mode_changed flag to this
earlier value instead in pre_validate_dsc().

(cherry picked from commit cc7c7121ae082b7b82891baa7280f1ff2608f22b)
AV:L - The vulnerable path is reached through local DRM/KMS ioctls, especially DRM_IOCTL_MODE_ATOMIC on an amdgpu primary device, not through network input.
AC:L - On an affected AMD display setup with DSC/MST-capable outputs, the bad state transition is deterministically triggered by a crafted atomic modeset combining MST/DSC changes with an unrelated mode change.
PR:L - The attacker must be a local DRM client with access to the primary node and current DRM master capability; this is attainable by an unprivileged graphical-session user and does not require real root.
UI:N - Once the attacker has the local DRM access, exploitation is driven by ioctls and later framebuffer/CRTC teardown without requiring a separate victim action.
S:U - The corruption occurs within the kernel display driver and affects the same kernel security authority, with no VM escape or cross-scope boundary involved.
C:H - The bug creates a use-after-free of a kernel dc_stream_state object, and kernel UAF memory corruption is defensibly capable of exposing arbitrary kernel memory.
I:H - The observed failure is a write through kref_put to a freed object, and a reclaimable kernel UAF write can be shaped into memory corruption or control-flow compromise.
A:H - The commit documents a KASAN use-after-free in dc_stream_release, and this class of kernel memory corruption can reliably crash or destabilize the system.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

ipc: limit next_id allocation to the valid ID range

The checkpoint/restore sysctl path can request the next SysV IPC id
through ids->next_id. ipc_idr_alloc() currently forwards that request to
idr_alloc() with an open-ended upper bound.

If the valid tail of the SysV IPC id space is full, the allocation can
spill beyond ipc_mni. The returned SysV IPC id still uses the normal
index encoding, so later lookup and removal can target the wrong slot.
This leaves the real IDR entry behind and breaks the IDR state for the
object.

The bug is in ipc_idr_alloc() in the checkpoint/restore path.

1. ids->next_id is passed to:

idr_alloc(&ids->ipcs_idr, new, ipcid_to_idx(next_id), 0, ...)

2. The zero upper bound makes the allocation effectively open-ended.
Once the valid SysV IPC tail is occupied, idr_alloc() can spill past
ipc_mni and allocate an entry beyond the valid IPC id range.

3. The new object id is still encoded with the narrower SysV IPC index
width:

new->id = (new->seq << ipcmni_seq_shift()) + idx

4. Later removal goes through ipc_rmid(), which uses:

ipcid_to_idx(ipcp->id)

That truncates the real IDR index. An object actually stored at a
high index can then be removed as if it lived at a low in-range
index.

5. For shared memory, shm_destroy() frees the current object anyway, but
the real high IDR slot is left behind as a dangling pointer.

6. A subsequent walk of /proc/sysvipc/shm reaches the stale IDR entry
and dereferences freed memory.

Prevent this by bounding the requested allocation to ipc_mni so the
checkpoint/restore path fails once the valid range is exhausted."

With red
zoning also enabled, any extra size became part of the red zone, so it
must not be zeroed and thus we must zero only the requested size.

However the current check is imprecise, and will trigger also when only
SLAB_RED_ZONE is enabled without SLAB_STORE_USER (which enables tracking
the requested size). This means enabling red zoning alone can compromise
krealloc()'s __GFP_ZERO contract.

Fix this by using slub_debug_orig_size() instead, which is the exact
check for whether the requested size is tracked. We don't need to care
if red zoning is also enabled or not. Also update and expand the
comment accordingly.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

net: openvswitch: reject oversized nested action attrs

Open vSwitch stores generated flow actions as nlattrs, whose nla_len
field is u16. Commit a1e64addf3ff ("net: openvswitch: remove
misbehaving actions length check") allowed the total sw_flow_actions
stream to grow beyond 64 KiB, which is valid, but also removed the last
guard preventing a generated nested action attribute from exceeding
U16_MAX.

An oversized generated container can thus be closed with a truncated
nla_len. A later dump or teardown then walks a structurally different
stream than the one that was validated. In particular, an oversized
nested CLONE/CT action may cause subsequent bytes in the generated
stream to be interpreted as independent actions.

Keep the larger total-action-stream behavior, but make nested action
close reject generated containers that do not fit in nla_len, and return
the error through all callers. For recursive SAMPLE, CLONE, DEC_TTL, and
CHECK_PKT_LEN builders, trim resource-owning action-list tails in reverse
construction order before discarding failed wrappers, so resources copied
into the rejected tails are released before the wrappers are removed.

Most failed outer wrappers are discarded by truncating actions_len after
child resources have been released. CHECK_PKT_LEN also trims its parent
after branch resources are gone. SET/TUNNEL close failures unwind their
known tun_dst ownership directly, and SET_TO_MASKED has no external
ownership and truncates on close failure.
AV:L - The vulnerable action builder is reached through local Generic Netlink requests such as OVS_FLOW_CMD_NEW or OVS_PACKET_CMD_EXECUTE. Remote packets cannot construct the malformed action stream.
AC:L - The attacker deterministically controls the nested-action expansion, wrapped length, and resulting parser alignment; no race or uncontrollable condition is required.
PR:L - The operations require CAP_NET_ADMIN but use GENL_UNS_ADMIN_PERM in namespace-aware families. An unprivileged user can obtain the required capability through an allowed user and network namespace.
UI:N - Once the attacker sends the crafted netlink request, vulnerable dumping, teardown, or execution occurs without another user's participation.
S:U - The vulnerability and its effects remain within the host kernel's security authority. Kernel privilege escalation from a user namespace does not constitute a CVSS scope change.
C:H - Length truncation can reinterpret attacker-controlled userdata as an internal SET or CT action. The dump path can consequently dereference an attacker-selected kernel pointer and serialize referenced memory.
I:H - Fake SET or CT actions can make execution or teardown perform reference-count operations, releases, and frees through attacker-controlled pointers. This provides exploitable memory-corruption primitives capable of kernel code execution.
A:H - Attacker-controlled invalid pointers can cause a kernel oops or panic, while zero-length misparsed actions can cause a non-advancing execution loop and soft lockup."
