AV:A - The vulnerable object lifetime is driven by the Bluetooth ISO/HCI connection state machine, and the final use-after-free write occurs when an HCI connect/disconnect/abort event from a Bluetooth peer drops the last `iso_conn` reference (`iso_connect_cfm`/`iso_disconn_cfm` → `iso_conn_del` → `iso_conn_free`). Per CNA guidance Bluetooth-reachable code is Adjacent, and an attacker-controlled LE Audio device can drive the CIS/BIS setup and teardown events that complete the race.
AC:L - The attacker controls both sides of the race directly — one thread calls `listen()` (which drops the socket lock across `iso_listen_bis()`, leaving `sk_state == BT_BOUND` while `conn->sk` is set) while another calls `close()`, hitting the `default:` arm of `__iso_sock_close()` that zaps the socket without clearing `conn->sk`. The window can be retried indefinitely, and the delayed conn put gives a long, tunable reallocation window.
PR:L - `iso_sock_create()` performs no capability check, so any unprivileged local user can open a `BTPROTO_ISO` `SOCK_SEQPACKET` socket and drive the listen/close race; no CAP_NET_ADMIN or root is required.
UI:N - The race is driven entirely by the attacker's own threads plus asynchronous HCI events; no action by a legitimate user or administrator is needed.
S:U - The corruption is confined to kernel slab memory within the same kernel security authority; no VM, IOMMU, or sandbox boundary is crossed.
C:H - A use-after-free on a freed `struct iso_pinfo` lets the attacker reoccupy the slab slot with a chosen object, and the stale `conn->sk` plus the `iso_sock_hold()` read of freed memory can be leveraged into kernel memory disclosure.
I:H - `iso_conn_free()` performs an 8-byte write at a fixed offset into the freed socket object; after heap spraying this becomes a targeted write into an attacker-chosen kernel structure, enabling pointer/refcount corruption and control-flow hijack.
A:H - The use-after-free reliably corrupts slab memory and causes kernel oops/panic (as demonstrated by the KASAN slab-use-after-free report in the sibling SCO fix), and it can be triggered repeatedly."

Drag nodes to arrange them. Double-click a related vulnerability to open it, or a source to visit its link. The Physics button on the left tunes the layout and the simulation; the legend at the bottom left hides or shows nodes by kind and by sighting type.

Forecast uses a logistic model when the trend is rising, or an exponential decay model when the trend is falling. Fitted via linearized least squares.

  • Seen: The vulnerability was mentioned, discussed, or observed by the user.
  • Confirmed: The vulnerability has been validated from an analyst's perspective.
  • Published Proof of Concept: A public proof of concept is available for this vulnerability.
  • Exploited: The vulnerability was observed as exploited by the user who reported the sighting.
  • Patched: The vulnerability was observed as successfully patched by the user who reported the sighting.
  • Not exploited: The vulnerability was not observed as exploited by the user who reported the sighting.
  • Not confirmed: The user expressed doubt about the validity of the vulnerability.
  • Not patched: The vulnerability was not observed as successfully patched by the user who reported the sighting.

How durations are calculated

Following the VTEM framework (Black Hat USA 2015), time to patch starts when the vendor or a coordinator was informed, total time to patch at discovery, and disclosure to patch at public disclosure; vendor response time runs from the report to its acknowledgement. Time to exploit and time unpatched start at the earliest discovery or report, falling back to public disclosure. Unpatched time ends at the first recorded patch, or the calculation time when no patch is recorded. Exploitation to patch shows the interval between those two events; a published proof of concept is a public exploit, not exploitation.

Each result shows its source dates. A negative interval means the end event came first; when date-only inputs leave the order open, the result says so. Date-only inputs are approximate. The earliest evidence wins: KEV report dates and sightings are labelled as such. Records describing another vulnerability are listed but never calculated from, and a PoC alone does not establish exploitation. Missing patch evidence does not prove that no patch exists. Filters below change the event list only.

    Related by attack behaviour

Vulnerabilities whose description is nearest to this one in the vector space of the CIRCL/vulnerability-attack-technique-biencoder model. This is a similarity search over the bi-encoder space (plain cosine), not a classification, and it has no measured accuracy.
