This matches the kernel CNA treatment of crafted-image mount bugs (e.g. CVE-2025-38204, CVE-2025-38230, CVE-2025-38652).\nUI:R - The flaw only fires when someone mounts the attacker-supplied erofs image with the corresponding `device=` parameters; it cannot be triggered without that mount action.\nS:U - The freed object, the corrupted slab memory, and the resulting crash or escalation are all inside the kernel\u0027s own security authority; no VM, IOMMU, or sandbox boundary is crossed.\nC:H - `file_inode(sbi-\u003edif0.file)-\u003ei_mode` is read back out of the freed `erofs_sb_info`; if a sprayed object has taken the slot the kernel dereferences an attacker-groomed pointer and reads memory at an attacker-chosen location, and use-after-free of a kmalloc object is generally leverageable into kernel-memory disclosure.\nI:H - `sbi-\u003edif0.file = file` writes a valid kernel `struct file *` at a fixed offset (16) into a freed generic-kmalloc chunk, clobbering whatever live object has been reallocated there \u2014 a classic UAF write primitive that overwrites pointers/state of an unrelated kernel object and is a strong stepping stone to control-flow hijacking.\nA:H - Even without grooming, the UAF read of poisoned/reused memory and the follow-on `get_tree_nodev()` path (which calls `erofs_fc_fill_super()` with `s_fs_info == NULL`, immediately writing through a NULL `sbi`) produce a kernel oops/panic, and the path also leaks a `struct file` reference on every attempt."

No administrator or user action is required at the moment of attack.\nS:U - The out-of-bounds access, the disclosed data, and the resulting fault are all confined to the client kernel\u0027s own security authority; no hypervisor, IOMMU, or sandbox boundary is crossed.\nC:H - The unvalidated 32-bit `data_offset` makes `copy_to_iter()` read from an attacker-chosen address up to 4 GiB past a ~2 KB receive-buffer slab object, and the inflated `data_length` keeps that buffer at the queue head so `offset` advances on each call \u2014 allowing a remote peer to stream out large amounts of kernel memory, which is then delivered to userspace as SMB response/file content.\nI:L - There is no out-of-bounds write, but the client assembles and parses SMB2 responses built from out-of-bounds kernel memory, so connection state, file metadata, and page-cache contents returned to applications are driven by data the attacker caused the kernel to read from outside the intended buffer.\nA:H - A large `data_offset` faults on unmapped memory or a vmalloc guard page in the demultiplex/softirq path, and an inflated `data_length` desynchronizes `reassembly.data_length` so `_get_first_reassembly()` returns NULL and is immediately dereferenced \u2014 either way an oops (full panic with `panic_on_oops`) that tears down the mount."

This results in a permanently elevated\n   `vvs-\u003ebytes_unsent`. Which, in turn, confuses the SOCK_LINGER handling.\n\n2. connect() resetting a connected socket\u0027s state may race with socket\n   being placed in a sockmap. And gives rise to WARNs.\n\n3. connect() transitioning SS_CONNECTED -\u003e SS_UNCONNECTED allows for a\n   transport change/drop after TCP_ESTABLISHED. Which poses a problem for\n   any simultaneous sendmsg() or connect() and may result in a\n   use-after-free/null-ptr-deref.\n\nDo not disconnect socket on signal/timeout. No network packet processing is involved, so this is local-only.\nAC:L - Once `devl_rate_nodes_destroy()` runs (SR-IOV teardown, eswitch mode change, driver reload \u2014 routine in SR-IOV/DPU cloud hosts), the stale parent pointer persists in surviving leaf rate objects, so there is no race to win: the attacker sprays the 120-byte kmalloc-128 slot and then deterministically triggers the deref with an unprivileged `devlink port function rate show`. The reproducers in the commit message are deterministic one-shot command sequences.\nPR:L - The vulnerable dereference sites \u2014 `devlink_nl_rate_fill()` reading `devlink_rate-\u003eparent-\u003ename` and emitting it to userspace \u2014 sit behind `DEVLINK_CMD_RATE_GET`, which carries only `GENL_CMD_CAP_DO|DUMP` with no `GENL_ADMIN_PERM` and no family-level gate, so an ordinary unprivileged local user reaches the freed object and obtains the read primitive. Only the state-creating teardown needs CAP_NET_ADMIN, and that occurs as routine orchestration activity on the affected mlx5/ice/netdevsim hosts.\nUI:N - No victim must open a file, mount a filesystem, or interact in any way; the attacker issues the netlink dump (or the whole command sequence) themselves. Exploitation completes entirely within attacker-issued syscalls.\nS:U - The use-after-free read and write are confined to kernel slab memory under the same security authority as the kernel itself. No VM, IOMMU, or sandbox boundary is crossed.\nC:H - `nla_put_string(msg, DEVLINK_ATTR_RATE_PARENT_NODE_NAME, devlink_rate-\u003eparent-\u003ename)` loads a pointer from offset 64 of the freed `struct devlink_rate` and copies the string it points at back to userspace; after reclaiming the kmalloc-128 slot with controlled data this is an unbounded arbitrary kernel-memory read delivered over an unprivileged netlink dump.\nI:H - `devl_rate_leaf_destroy()` performs `refcount_dec()` on offset 72 of the freed object, giving a controlled decrement primitive against whatever kmalloc-128 object reclaims the slot \u2014 dropping a live object\u0027s refcount to zero yields a second use-after-free and the standard heap-spray path to arbitrary write and control-flow hijack.\nA:H - Even without reclamation the bug reliably produces `refcount_warn_saturate` WARNINGs (\"decrement hit 0; leaking memory\") as shown in both netdevsim and mlx5 traces, which panic the box under `panic_on_warn`; with a reclaimed slot the corrupted refcount causes premature frees, slab corruption, and oops on the subsequent dangling-pointer string dereference."
